@k5lta Yeah, the films are always worse than the books, i guess its because in a book you can literally tell people what characters are thinking and feeling whereas you have to just go by actions and facial expressions and such in a film. The only film iv ever seen that was better than the book was The Shawshank redemption, and thats only coz the book is actually a short story called "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption", still worth a read tho if your a Stephen King fan

I hate how different the movies are from the books. If you loved this movie then you seriously need to read the book coz its about a million times better, that scene is so much more in depth and alot darker, for example Kurtz (morgan freeman) doesnt warn the other pilots that the ship is going to explode, he just flies off coz hes a total bastard in the book!
