While he was defending the downed helicopter, however, he was shot 4 times and later died of his wounds.
Interesting you bring him up, I don't know if his chances of survival would have been better had he stayed in the BH or not, but injured he still chose to fight his way out.
The Malaysians and the Pakistani fought heavy and rescued the American soldiers out of that horrible place. But in the movie it's not shown. It's even showed them as they didn't want to fight. Thats why the Malaysians didn't show this movie in theaters.

An engineer might write the manual and say a rifle's maximum effective range is 700 meters, but the guy who fires it knows that when he needs to, he can hit a target at 750. @arnoldXIV Very true. These kids dont get that the only people who know a weapon are the guys who use them. An engineer might write the manual and say a rifle's maximum effective range is 700 meters, but the guy who fires it knows that when he needs to, he can hit a target at 750. They think it takes a sniper one shot to kill an enemy when really it takes thousands of shots of practice to lead up to that one kill. Honestly, I'm glad these kids dont know war. War is hell, and combat is a bitch.

Ridley Scott never disappoints me - amazing director. Black Hawk Down is true war movie-masterpiece. Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor, Tom Sizemore, Sam Shepard and my favorite Eric Bana were brilliant in this movie

@Aerials357 Nobody in the world ever said that Somalia is some evil country, unless they're some ignorant bigot. I'm all for America, but I'm not so narrow-minded that I think all Somalians are gun-brandishing gangsters. Of course, there are good innocent Somalians, but they got no attention unless they were being killed by militia. We send our forces in to help but because of collateral damage, innocent people also died and the families of these gangsters also became enraged.

This movie makes me sooo pissed off, at the Americans....i hate how they glorisy their part in the war.....at the end they lost like 19 soldiers....and killed 1000.....I;m Canadian, so it's not a matter of me not being patriotic here.....such a dramatic movie to show how the other country is seen as the 'devil"....wake up america, your country lies to you and brainwashes you through the media!!!!
