  • "it looks mental", still laughing. I'm 50, fit, and grew my long hair out gray/silver. Appreciate your comments about looking natural. Too many product pushers want us to adopt this idea that looking 20 and perfect is best because it sells lots of makeup. We know that it's just nonsense. Nothing at all wrong with aging. Especially if you make it a style choice. XXX

  • Thank you sooooo much for this video!!! I have been having such problems keeping my foundation on my nose area, and my pores just show through so bad. I came across your channel, and found this video. I was anxious to try this morning and OH My Gosh!!! It works so well and my pores on my nose do not show through. I feel more comfortable now wearing my foundation. Thank you so much!!!! I love your videos, been watching them a ton. You are so informational, kind, and cute to boot!! xxxooo (hugs)

  • is there way to minimize large pores for women such as myself that dont wear makeup everyday? i use milk of magnesia on occassions at night and once a week when i wear crea to powder foundation, any other suggestions for in between? thank you, i just discovered ur videos and they are awesome

  • Lol u don't have to look... Pore less .....lol

  • I would love to win Coastal Scents :) ! That would make my year x

  • Your videos taught me a lot. Thank you for taking the time to make them.

  • lol, I've been covering my foundation with a light powder with a cotton puff for some time now! I just don't like brushes with powder, you lose the foundation which is the base that covers your face up. But, still, after doing all that, I cannot cover the acne bumps that are on my jawline. I saw your 'how to cure acne video' and today I bought the Cetaphil cleanser and Oxy Benzoyl Peroxide 10%. I'm gonna try, thank you :)

  • you just blew my mind.

  • I can't help but notice everybody saying that it would clog your pores and irritate your skin. Yes, it would, but if you cleanse it will remove all of that powder and unclog your pores. I think that might help. :3

  • I use Bare Minerals foundation. Would I to this step after I apply the foundation and could you get the same affect using a puff like you did with Mineral Veil?

  • you are amazing

  • I really want to eradicate all my visible pores...but not look like plaatic

  • omg!! this is amazing! awesome tip.

  • I think I'm in love with you! You are truly amazing! Will you marry me? Lol

  • I have watched a lot of your videos and read far too many of the comments from the lemmings.

I would be really interested to know the average age of your subscribers.

  • hope your brush will be available in canada! =)

  • Oh my God. You. Are. My. God. I love you! I hope your clients pay you real goooooood!

  • Okay the more of your videos I watch the more I fall in love with you :) ... Just straight up down to earth person ... Thank you

  • Omgshhh you've saved my life :D

  • Thank you, you are amazing!!!

  • oh my god you're a fucking genius <3

  • Great!!!!

  • I'm going to try this on my sister sometime, she worries about her large pores a lot. Good luck with your brush!

  • Which powder are you using in the demonstration? I love your videos!!!! Short, to the point, & sweet.

  • @AznxXxDreamz Wayne tells us in the description he has written what product he used! :)

  • your not just an artist, your and incredible teacher! love the way you explain everything to make real sense, not just "comun sense"!

  • Wow I can see a big difference, i'm gonna try this next time.

  • thank you wayne :)

  • GOOD LUCK WAYNED I WILL BUY ANY BRUSH THAT YOU MAKE !!

  • i love it how you always describe everything in your description box, thanks for the tip, and good luck with getting the brush on the market, looking forward to it.

  • O.o Unbelievable :O

I can't believe how easy that is and cheap :O *jaw hits the floor*

Thanks so much for the great tip lol ^_^

  • Does this technique work with the MUFE hd microfinish powder and a puff or does it have to be pressed powder?

  • I can't believe that after 2 years on YT I see that method for the first time! Thank you!

  • why would you want to clog your pores with makeup?

  • @kirstymeskell Because it's a temporary fix, and hopefully you wash your face at the end of the day with a decent cleanser to remove the makeup from your pores.

  • thank you for this amaaaazing tip! i have HUGE pores on the area around my nose and i ve really tested 10000 things to make them look smaller or reduce them. this is the first thing that really worked for me! THANK YOU

  • it's very helpful! BUT wouldn't that clog your pores and lead to skin irritation/s like acne?

  • @MrJeffreez

no, if you wet your face with cold water before applying makeup that will close your pores so no makeup will get it there and clog it. Or if you use a primer it will cover your pores like a base so no it wont clog :)

  • it's very helpful! BUT wouldn't that clog your pores and lead to skin irritation/s like acne?

  • Wow, how do you get such good lighting at night? :3 do you use a certain kind of lighting or lamp or bulbs? my lighting to do makeup at night is awful, help meeeh wayne P.S love your make up tips and skin care vids, your wonderful Hugz

  • I swear you have the BEST makeup tips. As an up and coming makeup artist I don't know where I would be without your channel. Lol. Thanks for being real with us. Love your channel. Good luck with your foundation brush!!

  • Will pressing makeup into pores make acne-prone skin worse?

  • whenever i'm doing my makeup i always ask myself, "would goss approve of this?"

  • I can not WAIT for your brushes. Out of all the MA's out there, it's your vids I return to over and over again for honest, practical, and realistic information. Everyone is going wilder and crazier with the makeup, and that's fantastic to see all the creativity, but your real-world application and solid no-nonsense techniques are always a standard for natural to radical looks.

  • Good Luck with your brush Wayne!!! looking forward to trying it put ;) Thanks for this AWESOME tip, BIG difference!!

  • Very helpful tip!! Thanks!

  • Looks good!

But it doesn't clog your pores, cause break out and in the long run enlarges your pores even more?

  • i thought if you used a puff it would take off your foundation aswell

  • Oh Wayne, I love you! haha :)

I am a makeup artist, but the only way to stay on top of your game is to always be learning, and Youtube is a great way to do that. And as far as I am concern you are one of the best, if not the best, honest, helpful makeup artists on youtube. Thank you for that. xo

  • Instead of using a powder puff can you use a flat top brush to push the powder in?

  • I really really love how you give direct information and "keep it real" as they say, and I love how all of your tips are so....accessible and simple. It isn't like "You have to get this crazy expensive product" or do some complicated process that takes forever and ever. It's just, bringing it back to basics and simplicity and really shows that ANYONE can do a couple simple tricks to look and feel beautiful.

  • Thanks so much for this tip. Awesome

  • what powder did u use?

  • Do you use this same method for dry or mature skin, or do you recommend a primer? Also I see people mentioning the clogging of the skin, I come to believe that we are actually in some instances providing protection to our skin since the makeup is a barrier to the dirt, pollution, etc., your thoughts? Have a lovely day.

  • Congrats on your foundation brush! Hope everything will go well! xxx

  • Great tip! I really enjoy your channel

  • Did you say... "it looks mental?" that's halarious.

  • What pressed powder did you use?

  • i'm looking forward to the brush you're making. Hopefully, it won't be very pricey hehe

  • I love how your all your videos are short and straight to the point:))

  • this is so true!!! i've always wondered why people were so hyped about using brushes, as i find using a sponge works best for flawless powder application.

  • Great tip!

  • I will buy ANY brush you make!!

  • Wont that cause breakouts?

  • Won't that cause breakouts?

  • love your videos and good luck with your brush!! :-)))

  • amazing trick,,always overlooked simple tricks but they do work!

  • love your videos :D

  • I can't wait for your foundation brush <3

  • you are brilliant thank you so muchh! btw your realllly hansom. LOL

  • I have some enlarged pores on my cheeks I'd like to try this on, thanks so much for the tip! Maybe you could do a really quick informative video specifically for people who don't quite understand how pores work? Just a suggestion :) Best of luck on your brush and please tell me it will be available in the U.S. I would buy any brush you designed!

  • i saw in your description you say any pressed or loose powder will work except mineral foundation, why is this? love your videos, thanks for your no-nonsense advice!

  • I tried this trick and it really does work great. I have pores the size of Lake Superior on certain areas of my face and no amount of primer, foundation, concealers have ever made those areas look decently smooth.

This method makes my skin in those areas look so very much better. And my foundation sticks better and lasts longer, too. I don't get clogged pores from this method. And if any pores are going to clog, it would be my big, honking ones. lol

Thank you so much for this tutorial.

  • @candyisc00l Thank you! Its insane what people think and say about pores doing this and that. A lot of it is genetic too. Even after your post I saw a comment saying cold 'closes' pores. Ugh

  • "Honestly, It Looks Mental" LMBOO!!

  • Wait, why should I not use mineral powder?

  • Good luck for your foundation brush Goss ;-) ... And thank you, as ever!

  • I think the trick is to cover up and make the skin look mate instead of shining?. Love your tutorial. wink

  • Great tip:)

  • Love your tutorials! I'm doing my own makeup on the day of my wedding so this tip in particular will come in handy!

  • OMG YOU ARE GOING TO DESIGN BRUSHES?! Finally! Wayne - The God of brushes! :)))

  • Good luck with your new brush Wayne!

  • I can totally see the difference! Unfortunately it won't work for everyone =/ I've tried this before with different powders. As you said in the video "you still want it to look like skin", but every time I try this it just ends up looking fake... It a great tip though and I think everyone who wants to minimize the appearance of pores should try this!

    Great video ^_^

  • does this clog your pores? If it doesn't then I'm happy that I found you :D

  • is there any difference between pressed and loose powder or i can use this technique with loose powder ???

  • @princess96313 I think pressed is better as it stays on the puff and doesn't fly all over the place. However, you can try to put a lil bit in the lid and press it into the puff that way and try. I'm not Wayne but I'm speaking from the experience :)

  • Wow, I love your simple tricks for such a big problem. It works! Again thanks for vid :)

  • Try drinking alkaline water for improved skin & overall health...

Visit my channel for more information!!

  • Brilliant trick.

  • thanks. I have seen a dermatologist and my acne has? been cleared for a year now but i am left with deep acne scars simply on my cheek space the doctor mentioned laser treatments however too pricey right now. so i'm looking for one thing to help lighten the appearance of the scars i noticed liquid foundation sinks in the scars and highlights it a lot of and mineral powders tend to accentuate the scars.

  • @lilchapmanlil is this your first time watching his video??? Don't get me wrong but honestly he is a polite & soft spoken make up guru I've ever seen.

  • you dont know how much i love you

  • is there any type of powder on puff pad??

  • No no, thank YOU for YOUR time ;)

  • No no... thank YOU for YOUR time :)

  • real time Photoshop

  • ..stop smoking...it will stop pores.

  • @jojacool how do you know he smokes? and pretty much everyone whether they smoke or not have enlarged pores.

  • Jeepers you are so darn cute, so much so I have a hard time listening to what you are saying, but then your accent is super cute too...ah I just want to cuddle you.

  • awesome video! i always used a brush because i thought a puff will cake up the powder on my face. i'll definitely give your method a try. thanks wayne!

  • totally see the difference!

  • Seriously? A brush designed by you Wayne??*does the dance of joy*See,wishes do come true!xxxxx

  • If people want to do this then that's their prerogative but I honestly believe people can become too vain and self-absorbed about this sort of thing. I mean how often when you are talking to someone are you thinking 'they have far to many pores and oh dear, they are huuuge', for most it's never so I wouldn't fret over this too much. However I do realise people can have confidence issues (like my myself, hence why I'm on here), but I thought i'd share my epiphany. Keep well folks.

  • @ryanloveshouse It has nothing to do with confidence issues. I have small pores and have been doing this for years. The texture of your skin looks so much better when it is covered properly with powder puff. I rarely use brush. It never worked for me. Puff is great.

  • Good luck on the foundation brush! I'm excited!

  • i just absolutely love u goss..ur tips are very smart and useful ;)

  • I put lemon juice on my pores. It's like pore crack.

  • We are the 99% you will never eliminate all of us "poors".

  • You're the first make up guy I've ever seen without that Hollywood gay lisp thing going on

  • @gossmakeupartist what kind of powder are you using, and is that a Nars powder puff?

  • Oooh!!! Can't wait for the brush! Hope it will be available in the States! :)

  • Are you any relation to Matt and Luke Goss?

  • @QueenofAntarctica I call bull shit! That's another myth, pores are NOT muscles, they do not contract (open and close). They are cells.
