The meat was really good. Had to scrape off the other stuff and bread was alright. Had the lunch special. Something with pastrami or roast beef. The bar-b-que chicken was gnarly. Almost $30.00 for two people a little after lunch time. We just happen to be in the area looking for a place to eat. Did not know it was on diner and dives show. Also tried pizza while in boston. I think we had sal's. It was okay. I wanted to try Stevie's pizza and New york pizzaria.
Visited Boston last week, ate at Sam Lagrassas. EASILY the best sandwich I have ever eaten. The roast beef with provolone, sweet onion layer, bleu cheese and horsereadish...unbelievable!!!! I will be going back next year and I will probably eat there 4-5 times in 4-5 days!!
i know this is probably pedantic of me but it's pronounced 'CHI-POT-LEE', not 'CHI-POL-TEE'...i've had people correct me when i said it 'chi-pot-lee' and it nearly made me have a brain implosion
@cazia9 It's not pedantic at all, it's a losing battle. Trying to teach the average person how to pronounce things properly is never going to happen. Think of the word "Foyer". 99% will pronounce it FOY-YER, when it's actually pronounced FOY-YEA. We must extend beyond our monosyllabic tendencies and delight in the pursuits of multisyllabicism.
Believe me...I can sympathize. But language is living and breathing, and it evolves. If you don't evolve with it, then you get left in the dust with the old fogies. For better or worse.
@DoggoneNexus The problem I have with it is that people are accepting these new pronounciations because of ignorance. An ignorant person pronounced it wrong and other ignorant people use it incorrectly. Why must ignorance dictate our new "language"?
@cazia9 it's actually more like chi-pot-lay but you are definitely closer than the other way. as a californian that is around lots of spanish speakers, i was very surprised to hear this weird pronunciation. probably a regional accent or something?
