I train some groundtechniques but that consists of only 5-10% of my training. I can understand why people would have a problem with doing this 100% of the training-time. I mean, you have great standup fighting-systems that you can practice. Groundfighting should only happen out of necessity, it shouldn't be the focus. I train some groundtechniques but that consists of only 5-10% of my training. I can understand why people would have a problem with doing this 100% of the training-time. I mean, you have great standup fighting-systems that you can practice. Groundfighting should only happen out of necessity, it shouldn't be the focus. You lose a lot of options when going to the ground.

it's true grappling is not useless, but, I feel like because i am 6'1" 200 and 14 percent body fat, -able to move quick like a middle weight boxer, and have hulking elbows that i know how to use, that it would be futile for someone to try to wrestle me or grapple with me because i could easily break their forearms or dislocate their shoulders with the power i can generate in a quick bruce lee like fashion, i've been doing wing chung and boxing for seven years, but i've alway sbeen an athlete.

They take you out of your comfort zone. 1 month ago I had a mma fight(mma rules) with a guy who was a boxer/brawler, he had over 20kgs more than me and 2minutes 30secs later he submitted due to rear naked choke. After the fight he told me he didnt know what to do once I got him to ground. I told him I wasnt gonna trade punches with him.
