UNLESS they are on vista where the windows experience stops at 5.9...i have windows 7, core2duo E6400 oc'ed from 2.13Ghz to 3.21Ghz and i get a rating of 6.5 --> 7.0 on RAM, at 800Mhz at 4-4-3-4-20 ---> also 6.0 on both graphics and gaming graphics with a RADEON x1900GT oc'ed a bit...

although the comp itself is looking pretty good --> way better than mine XD (i have cables laying all over the place and stock coolers..)

4870X2 is a joke because it depends on Crossfire scaling for its performance and Crossfire doesn't scale in many games, which is why a single GTX260 will outperform it in many situations. GTX260 SLI is roughly the same "on paper" but OWNS it in games and in the synthetic benchmarks.

haha, search for 4870 x2 and you'll see how wrong you are and the gtx 260 sucks. The ATi Radeon 4850 is cheaper and it beats the GTX 260. Go for the GTX 280 or 9800 GX2 if your just a Nvidia Fanboy. I have had many Nvidia gfx cards and i like them alot but ATi makes cheaper and better gfx cards.

How wrong I am? Earlier this year I had TWO 4850s in Crossfire and my single GTX260 is every bit as good as they were, better in Crysis than they were. You need to get your facts straight, and the GTX 280 is the best single GPU on the market at the moment. ATI makes cheaper hardware, but Nvidia makes the best.

The GTX 260 costs more than the ATi Radeon 4870 and i think that two 4850s will beat my 4870. I just don't think that a GTX 260 will beat a 4870 and Crysis is a Nvidia optimized game so you should run 3Dmark06 instead. Just watch my vids and compare. But i love Nvidia too because they have great drivers but the big turndown is the price if you compare it to the ATi cards.

In 3DMark06 the Nvidia card is better - I get almost 19,000 marks with my GTX 260. The new GTX 260 with 216 cores is better than the 4870.

I would have kept my two 4850s if they were "that" good, but they were not because the ATI drivers/crossfire didn't perform up to scratch!

ATI cards are garbage, it takes a dual GPU card to outperform Nvidias flagship GTX280 model, I have owned ATI cards in the past and the driver support was garbage, I would get texture corruption, and would have to use one set of drivers for some games and another set for other games... I have never had a single problem with any of the Nvidia cards I have owned and I have had quite a few over the years!!!

I agree about the drivers, they suck! But i've not had any problems with my 4870 since i bought it and i just love it. But i love the Nvidia drivers. I've never had any problems with the drivers but the graphics card itself is not going to be as strong as an ATi card in the same price range

There is software that can take advantage of 4+ cores! The "problem" is with the games! In games a dual core E8500 will beat even a i7!

DirectX11 should improve performance for games also in the future! Windows 7 also will support up to 256 cores! Even with Vista, if an application is multi-threaded than Vista will spread those treads on different cores (XP also)! :)
