@fannycraddock99 Fanny, if that is your name, I am so delighted that you like the Busker. I took a long ardous time in writing those lyrics. They meant so much to me and very close to my heart at that particular time in my life. I thank you.
What a beautiful song and lovely video too! Pure jewels and gold nuggets here on our great Youtube.
Really nice! Made me sad but I really enjoyed it..... Such a delightful change from all the manufactured Cowell X-factor and stuff. Jackie Lee, you are keeping me sane, there is still hope and places for us to find good music, thank you so much!
@comicmania2008 Thank you so much for your lovely message. I must say even though I say so myself and co-wrote the song it is one of my favourites and I just love what my dear fan did, it was so tastefully shot with lyrics in mind. I must agree with you about the S.C. X- factor. I thought it was going to be wonderful when it was first aired but unfortunately it is now the same old same old.
Jackie, once again we are spoiled with this wonderful little track. I can't believe it was never released (what on earth were your record company thinking?!?) but I'm certainly thankful to hear it now. I wonder what all your current friends must make of your singing career -- are some of them even aware?! I hope they appreciate how highly thought of you are! Kindest regards x
@sminkyminky I am so thrilled that you like this track. Yes indeed Christopher and I were devistated when the record Co., did not like our Calendar LP. Christophers music was magical and I think my lyrics suited the concept. They said it was too far ahead of its time. What can I say when they turned down the Beatles at one time. Most of my friends do not know about my career only just a select few.
@kevleisa You know that people are going to surmise that i must be paying you for all the lovely comments you have written, lol. So pleased that you like my Busker as I think it is one of my best recordings and also my favourite. I wrote those lyrics when I was a little down myself at the time.
@MsJackieLee thank you for your kind reply once again so chuffed as we say in stoke on trent having my operation next week having a tumor removed from my spinal chord in my neck i dare say it now and i WILL be back soon and i am sure nobody think my comments are being paid for all the comments you get are positive lol kindest regards kev
@bloodgorged I am so very pleased to hear that. I worked hard and long co-writing a whole album with Christopher Gunning with I think some of my best recordings and lyrics were on it. However the Album was never released which was a great pity and all of the tracks seem to be lost except this one. I am so glad it came to light because of Christopher.

@Akira4071 Thank you so much for your message. I will relay what you have said to the wonderful fan and now dear friend who captured this song to perfection with his eldest son and dearest pet dog Amber whom I think stole the show.
The video has a touch of sadness and the song starts with a tear and ends with a kind of joy and ghostly angelic feel, "well it made me cry and then smile" Ms Jackie Lee you are a serious singer, Not many singers are as versatile and as competent as you dear lady, A real privalege to hear these wonderful old songs..
@tukoramerez Thank you for your message and I am so pleased that you like the 'Busker'.One of my special fans videod it and set it u,p in fact his son played the violin and his dog called Amber was the extra, payed by the way in sausage rolls, Ha Ha Ha. I also love this song and I I so proud that I co-wrote it with Christopher Gunning who did the beautiful arrangement. Thank you also for the accolades .
@davidwalsh66 David I thank you so much for your comment. I remember when I was very young and had just started in show business, during an audition a producer had the nerve to say that I sang too well for what he wanted. I was amazed at that statement as I never knew what he meant and still dont. I love the Busker and loved singing it. I co- wrote it with the now famous Christopher Gunning, the song had a special meaning for me at that time.
@FantasyMindedMan I am so pleased that you like this video I think that Harold Houldershaw did a wonderful job with the song as you say poetically. I am so thrilled with it myself as I think it is one of the best songs I have written and it is one of my favorite recordings.
@Singingbear What a marverlous comment, I love it. I suppose it is because I co=wrote the Busker and it holds a soft spot in my heart. Thank you so much for your kind words of praise.
@MsJackieLee Hi Jackie. It's my pleasure. I had a single of 'White Horses' when I was a little lad. I played it over and over again. So, your music means a great deal to me.
Lovely to hear form you. Can't wait to tell my mates!
This song is just another Gem from a supremely talented singer. I have spent sooo long trying to find "White horses"....After coming across it last week i have learnt so much about Jackie, and have even bought her two CDs. The more i hear, the more i want to hear. Thank you so much for the fantastic music, Jackie Lee has a beautiful voice, face and, judging by her personal responses...a beautiful attitude to life.
@Gerthebard Thank you for those kind words of praise. I must say I so enjoyed co writing the Busker and of course recording it. It's such a great pity that the rest of that particular Master tape of many more good songs seem to be lost forever, so I am told.
Have a Great Happy Healthy and Peaceful New Year.
Lovely track. I used to be a busker on the London Underground and love White Horses - it was the first record I had and I often used to sing it when busking. Jackie's voice is so evocative of the era and it would be great to hear more from her....
My goodness how surprising hearing from a real busker. From your comment I have come to the conclusion that you no longer busk. It must have been tough at times for you, as my lyrics state, people rushing by not having time to listen to your songs or maybe what you were playing. It also seems to amaze me how many people remember my White Horses so fondly. Thank you so much for commenting.
Lovely to hear from you! Most of the time I had fun busking & people were very kind. Occasionally I felt melancholy, as it required quite a lot of stamina and the odd person used to steal from me, but it was great being able to sing my favourite songs, like White horses! I still perform (not busking in London anymore: I moved to Wiltshire) and write songs. One of my songs contains a line which refers to White Horses, as an homage! I read that you had voice issues; are you OK now? x
I am so pleased that you like this song. It is one of my favorite's even though I wrote the lyrics. It is such a great pity that Christopher Gunning cannot find the rest of the Album we colaberated on. Thanks a bunch for the accolades.
so many girl singers in the 60s got overlooked. jackie was extremely popular on both radio and tv also in concert it is such a pity that some of her very best work got overlooked. jacjie trent suffered the same fate.
I was talking to Mike D'Abo a couple of years back (oh dear, name dropping!) about 'Handbags And Gladrags' and we were commenting when a song has heart put into it which makes it so different that it stands out from everything else. This is a song like that. Such feeling, such heart. Thank you for this. Very good video too. Do you have any more little gems like this?
Trevor, thank you for you message. I must say I did put my heart into writing the lyrics and singing that particular song. Composed and arranged by the now renowned Christopher Gunning. He and I wrote and recorded a splended LP called My Calendar, about each month of the year only to be lost in the shuffle somewhere along the way with many more of the same gems, as you call it.
I have just watched this video yet again and have shed a few more tears. It is so beautifully photographed and you Harold get first prize for the way you interpreted my lyrics. My hat is off to you. Brilliant job.
@MsJackieLee It was my pleasure, it is such a beautiful song it just begged interpretation, it is a great pity that the rest of the album has not been found.
@DebZoid THank you DebZoid, I never thought of it like that I only know I enjoyed co-writing it with Christopher Gunning and then recording it. I think it is safe to say it is one of my favorites.
I also like this video, it does capture the feeling the song was intended to put across.
I also like the way that the vocals lead the video and the scene transitions are first class. Did you add sound effects for the ladies footsteps in the town scene?
Anyway thats enough praise for one day for Harlod.... Jackie that was a fine piece of music. It feels like the late 70's am i right? Your voice is A1 first class.
@julka1 Hi Andy, I am so pleased that you have enjoyed this utube. Your comments about the actual footage are spot on, Harold has done stellar job with the song. Thank you also for my accolaids. @julka1 Hi Andy, I am pleased that you like it, particularly coming from someone who knows what is involved in a project like this. In order to introduce Matt as the violinist I needed more audio at the start so used the live audio with the opening shots from a stereo pair on the camera. When the violin comes in it is back to the original audio which included it's own traffic sound fx. Thank's for your interest. Bests. Harold.
@EmeraldGemstar09 Hi to you, I am so pleased that you and I agree to it being a perfect marriage visually. Thanks so much for your comment I really appreciate it.
