  • This movie deserved to be MSTied....

  • Lucky enough to have dinner with author Martin Caidin a few years before he died. Most interesting evening of my life. Had some great stories about he making of this movie.

I always love David Janssen's line at 4:33, " You just get me in the ballpark!" He has one earlier, "Take your pills, go to sleep, and leave the driving to us..."

  • -Men will be killed in this effort just as they are killed in cars and airplanes and bars and in bed .

-Take a look at the numbers.

    -What about them?

    Amazing script

  • this movie caused a nightmare to the Apollo 13 astronaut JIM LOVELL

  • @Skybolter This movie caused a nightmare to the Apollo 13 astronaut's Jim Lovell wife , Marilyn Lovell .

  • This drama is about as intense as anything I've ever seen. I've seen people who profess no interest in sci-fi or the space program completely transfixed by this movie. Yeah, the space sequences near then end are bit lame, but I have never been able to turn off Marooned once I start watching. Thanks for posting!

  • 2:10 Martin Caiden - Author of Marooned

  • @pacific707 41 years since I first saw this movie and I NEVER thought of WHo that man was!!!!! He had been a newspaper reporter in his career and he is used appropriately here!!!!!

  • @pacific707 A-Ha! I thought that was him, but I didn't see him listed even as an uncredited cameo on IMDb. Thanks for confirming!

  • go, go, go with Goodyear... lol pretty good movie..

  • @itallxit2 stop spamming

  • They don't take off in storms...

  • @Craigthepope They waited until the eye passed over Florida, then they launched.

  • @pacific707 That is so badass.

  • @Craigthepope Apollo 12 launched in a storm, and was struck by lightning which followed the exhaust trail.

  • Very underrated movie!

  • @tuttt99 Totally underrated. Yeah, the special effects are a little cheesy, but it's a really good dramatic story. Notice there is virtually no music used in the soundtrack. Very effective.

  • @pacific707 Yeah, the VFX make me cringe (even though it won the Oscar for Visual Effects the year after 2001: A Space Odyssey), but all the scenes with Gregory Peck in Mission Control are awesome. And I've always loved how they made the comms audio sound totally realistic simply by recording the dialogue through the actual headsets, which neither "Apollo 13" or "From the Earth to the Moon" (or anybody else) did.
