  • I should had used an adhesion promoter.

  • I have several vehicle and just got a 98 Sonoma as a work truck and this video is exactly what I was looking for ill repost after I try it out thanks for the great Vid!

  • looks like nissan 240sx central console

  • Nothing that is in spray can is durable!

  • @anryvatanen not true i did my interior with this same stuff and i drive it everyday and still hasnt come off any

  • @anryvatanen nothing cheep in a can works. if you want something quality thats gunna last long you can't be shy with you money and cut corners when it comes to you vehical.

  • Wax and Grease remover? is that still the same as the T.S.P he was using? he never went through if he had soaked the towel then wiped the interior or wet the interior firs then wiped it. =/

  • There is a product called antistatic cleaner that is designed to clean plastic, prob get it from a paint shop.

  • Nice work!

  • did you spray any clear after painting it with the pain? or not needed?

  • @MrGeovani305 Wait for it to dry

  • Do you wait for the adhesive promoter to dry or no you paint right after you apply it?

  • No dislikes, hmm should I? NO!

  • Great video!

  • Automotive base color does great on vinyl, steering wheels and hard plastic panels and is very flexable and is avaliable in almost any color

  • good vid. just what I was looking for

  • Comment removed

  • whats up with the laugh

  • Adhesion Promoter was $6.00 a can. Would you risk all your labor Vs. $6.00? Buy it...

  • I was told that dupli color vinyl & fabric doesn't require any adhesion promoter spray cuz it already has adhesive in the paint. Is that true?

  • @7xrepiv

    its true

  • @7xrepiv true its basically a lacquer with a crap ton of adhesion promoter lol. I've used it on my mustang panels by itself after a good cleaning and it is still holding up great. If you go black though use the flat since the gloss is waaaay to shiny. or go with SEM dye

  • @7xrepiv why dont u start with a couple cans and if u need more go buy more..i know it takes alot to think of it

  • Hey guys thanxs for the comments, im doing my interior door handles on my 350z this weekend and needed the info!!

  • Outstanding tutorial! Many thanks!

  • If your dash is cracked, pending the severity, you'll be using epoxy to fill the cracks, then sand then follow the remaining prep steps. 1) soap & water 2) TSP 3) Wax & Grease remover 4) Adhesion Promoter 5) Paint.... Take your time. I did all my ABS plastic in a 2 tone grey scheme and I love it! Do not shoot the paint in Humid weather! My O.E. Interior was Taupe, now,, it's not:)

  • G body*

  • What about cracks? I'm trying to restore a Go body dash that had a couple cracks.

  • will this work if i painted grey interior black???

  • Stacey, adopt me:) Your show is awesome. Thanks for the tips...

  • Instead of the cleaner you can use extra strength fantastic and a mr clean magic eraser and rinse with warm water =] just a little tip for guys (like me) who dont have access to these crazy chemicals. I used this method on my white interior mustang and the paints still on 2 years later

  • i got a question, would all that stuff stacey used in the video work on atv plastics cuz im planing on repainting the plastic on my atv and and i dont know what to use

  • i have a question.. im planning on painting on my center tomarrow.. and mine is like wooden looking plastic u kno.. should i sand it down? because im going to paint it silver.. or what do u think? please reply soon thanks.

  • Stacy that was the video you have ever done. Thanks so much.

  • Man this stuff works i even used it to dye the carpet it bonded well with the fibers and even brought it back to to life from a sun faded green now its black and sexy again. If you plan to do the same be sure it is spotless when you use a cleaner make sure it doesnt have a stain blocker and let it dry.If the carpet seems still after being sprayed and is dry use a shop vac to work it lose you may lose some dye but it can be redone to get the finish you want.

  • Really helpful thank you :)

  • It's still paint and therefore a coating. I'm really looking to have the plastic soak in the color with a dye type of process. I hate painting panels every 10-20 years. I think a dye would last much longer.

  • Hey guys, Krylon makes an excellent plastic paint called Krylon Fusion (its cheap too $5.00). If you sand with about 400grit and clean the surface well ( I suggest a coat of primer and then sand the primer) the paint holds beautifully. I painted my interior 3 years ago and there is no fading or chipping. Nice vid btw :)

  • would you be able to paint leather like that? half of my door panel is leather, and it'll suck if i cant just paint it a solid color

  • Are you suppose to wait until the paint dries up that he said was going to make the paint stay like crazy and then Paint it black?

  • it'S really simple, i do it for ma supra MkIV and it'S work perfectly!!

  • In Australia i cant find anywhere to buy adhesion promoter is there something that i could use that would still be effective for painting the interior of my car. thanks

  • this is the BEST video of how to paint car interior on youtube, goodjob and thanks!

  • i miss you on trucks!! thanks for your knowledge ...came in handy with my cherokee :)

  • thank you so muchhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
