@rapidtranq Hi, by the time it got out, I bought it, january 2007, and it was (here in Portugal) very expensive!! 2000 Euros (more in dollars) Then the prices went down very fast! I saw it later for 1400 or less...

But since they don't make it anymore, it's hard to find and the price went up a little bit again. And I sold mine...What was I thinking!!???

Unless you have one of the first, you have a SBG 2000. Gibson had the SG, so Yamaha renamed SBG. Be HAPPY, Yamaha is a better built guitar. Both GREAT, (I have both incl 50th annaversary Paul).

Double Bat cutaway allows WAY easier access to higher frets. Neck/body one piece vertically laminated, dense mahogany body,/neck, Ebony fretboard.MASSIVE BRASS block under the tune-a-matic bridge adds a 'chimey' brightness. Carved maple top. Bound neck/body.

I think its an original, its from 1978 and it has no coil tapping. It has a block of wood through it which (if i remember correctly) was put there because santana didnt feel it had enough sustain

If no one ever tried anything new/different, it would be a pretty boring world. I own Strats, Teles, LPs and many others. I absolutely love mine. I have the 201, a mesa boogie 5:25, and a JSX 212, and I will NEVER sell my DSL.

I actually got mine for $50, mint shape! I was messing on craigslist during the day and came across a post for a marshall amp and ibanez guitar for $200, opened the post, no description of the amp, but on the blurry pic I saw two switches...yea, standby switch. My boss let me go, I got both, then sold the guitar for $150 after some TLC!
