The 8th chevron (key) locks to Pegasus but the new StarGate Universe show will focus on what Chevron 9 does. Gates was not made to Time travel.

however, if the wormhole passes through a solar flare of a nearby star, then it can be used for time travel (however its almost impossable to predict (without the help of something like what Baal had in SG Continuum))....

ya know now that i think about it, Y did SG-1 arrive in the SGC in "1969" when in continuum and other epidodes involveing the Stargate and time travle they went to WHERE the gate was... (they should of ended up in NY or wherever...) err.... continuum is diff...

... because SG-1 didnt travel through time in continuum... (or at least that wasnt shown) the timeline changed while they were in the wormhole (ok too much info)...

anyhow, in that episode umm, "2010"? (the one with the ashen) SG-1 sent a message to the SGC of the past not to come in contact with the ascheen... now if what happened in 1969 happened in that episode, the note would end up... IDK where.... but it ended up in the SGC....

as i said stargate was never meant to time travel only the solar flare does the thing and that is not what the ancient thought of when they made the gates

@Loliaz Although, there was one episode of sg1, idk where it occured in the sequence, that they found a database that could send you to where you wanted to go timewise, it knew every solar flair in history. I beleive its origins were asgard, not ancient, but i could be VERY wrong, so dont quote me on it. I do know that it was the first episode that they being the sg1 team accidentally used time travel in

In 1969, they appeared in the Cheyenne Mountain complex, I assume before the stargate was moved there. Why they didn't come through the stargate is beyond me

Plus anything having to do with time travel is inherently flawed... for instance in Continuum: When people started disappearing no one should have noticed. If the time-line changes then they were never there to begin with, therefore nothing to forget. Once Baal changed the time-line that should've been the end of it.

to all but those who exsist out of time. yes they should not have noticed at first, when a major time shift occurred, they were streaming through two gates, and when this happens they exsisted out of time and space, then they would have noticed.
