  • Amen.

  • Beautiful art & music! Thanks for sharing.

  • interesting that this album and the movie Blade Runner came out the same year. This tune could easily be on that soundtrack. I have probably listened to Offramp about 500 times or so...no joke! man do I love this album!! that chord at about 3:17 destroys me everytime, so much calm in that chord. Thanks Pat.

  • Goodness! This is one of the most hauntingly beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard. Pat Metheny's music is so timeless.

  • I've always felt this piece is sacred prayer, with the most beautiful amen at the end. God I love lyle mays.

  • this is the song that when I was running...it took over my mind and I never felt my feet hitting the ground for 4 min....it was awesome..............

  • headed for heart break

  • No . . . seek beauty. It will lift you up. Take care.

  • Iloveofrahaza87, thank you! You should do it, it's fun!

  • cinnaplid, thanks for your collages with Pat Methenys music !!!!!!!!!!!!! Man, it's nice. I really have also such ideas of taking very nice songs I like and put also nice images. This is "to love arts" ;-) This song is also very special from Pat's

  • Nana Vasconcelos made it beautiful.

  • GEEZZus this guy can paint.

    Must be nutcase though.

His shit is better than drugs ;-)

  • What a beautiful image your words evoke. Thank you for sharing.

  • This song and album reminds me of my days living up on top of a hill in San Carlos, ca overlooking the San Francisco bay area during the late 80s and early 90s. There was no other time or place like that - pure magic.

  • Very moving piece! Love "Offramp".

  • Thanks; me too :-))

  • I just Love Pat's Music..he is my favourite Musician...this particular song reminds me when i was younger..and i was so fond of it .. the last thing that i used to hear at night in my bed with my eyes closed...kept done that for months..still doing it from time to time...always reminds me the things that really matters in my life...thanks cinnaplid for this video...thanks Pat

  • @EmilianoC70 Tous autant que vous etes, vous ne tarrissez pas d'éloges concernant Pat et son group! Comment faire autrement?! On se comprend!

  • fantastic this song

  • Yes, I love it too :-))

  • This is one of those songs that transcends any genre of music. Pat has written orchestral, jazz, jazz fusion, folk and this one is more like New Age. He's a genious. He didn't win either of the grammys he was nominated for this year, but who cares...WE KNOW he's the BEST EVER :)

  • Does anyone know if Pat employs the real sounds of a bat echo-locating (a very sophisticated form of sonar)? The little clicks and flutters sound just the like wings and vocalizations of a bat while the bat was hunting while I was watching the Animal Channel. Pat does something similar on The Last Train Home by making the percussion closely mimick the sound of a speeding steam engine.

  • Interesting question. I have no idea -- but I'll never listen to it the same way again. Cool observation!

  • This guy is freakishly good.

  • In a perfect world, Alex Haley would have guided the writing of my autobiography, Martin Scorcese would direct the movie and Pat Metheny would write the score.

  • chapmancalvin, great comment. For me, it would be Carl Hiaasen and Billy Wilder (R.I.P.), with Pat Metheny writing the score :-))

  • When I need a good cry I play this

  • salemrush, I know how you feel.

  • Love and blessings

  • To you too, salemrush.

  • Guess what?

    Crying again

  • One of the most emotive tunes I can think of; I'm tempted to write it in as my requiem. Wonderful imagery, cinna.

  • Gracias por tu comentario.

Los cuadros de Ethereal Moods son muy bellos y has elegido la mejor música. Felicidades.

  • just amazing...

  • Thankyou, PouncingPenguin!

    p.s. I love your username :-))

  • Thanks! I thought you'd like my alias.

Official lie, but worth a try ;-)

  • Amazing art. I went to look up the artist then I realized the last name. I hope everyone is doing well! Ben

  • Thanks, Ben! Say hi to your lovely lady for me!

  • Just one word: GREAT

  • Thank you so much!

  • Very nice and very ethereal. The music is very relaxing, just what I need after a dreadful day at work!

  • Thank you. I hope you have a better evening.

  • Thanks for the wonderful images with the Pat Metheny...The music is so very evocative, spacious and contemplative for me...allows sadness and joy to be experienced...

  • Thanks!

  • Interesting that you mention the experience of sadness and joy. I marvel at the ability of Pat's music to simultaneously evoke opposing emotions.

    SEEK BEAUTY!

  • Indeed; Pat's music is often what I seek if I want a "soundtrack" for experiencing a sort of "spacious sadness" or "expansive joy". With this particular track, I've read a favorite passage from a book by Robert Monroe; fits so well. Another favorite is Pat's "April Wind" and "April Joy" (Pat Metheny Group, 1978); perfectly, to me, describes the feeling of the typically Mercurial weather of April.

  • Stunning. The colors speak to and through me...

  • Glad you like it! Thanks!

  • Great imagery, and great music. They complimented each other perfectly. I especially liked the ship painting around 1:42.

  • Thanks! I love that one too.

  • I dcid as well. I'm a huge Zelazny fan, especially his Amber novels, and that looks so much like something out of the series, as ship sailing into Amber through Shadow.

  • The better album, this group.

  • I have this album in vinil, perfect music, romantic song.
