Dave what would you consider to be the best buzzer nymph and emmerger patterns?
Personally I prefer to use some natural materials to keep them light in the water rather than superglue style. As foe emmergers i am not a big fan of shipmans, do you think they have a use? Keen to reduce the number of patterns I carry.

My best buzzer is one tyed with pheasant tail in natural, black and as many other colours that you can find, peacock herl and turkey biots are up there in these flies as well..Bobs Bits, Shuttlecocks and Bubble CDC patterns for emergers are the ones I would tye..The shipmans is a great allround pattern as well for when I worked at a trout fishery it did account for many a fish..I hope this is of some help to you...
Hi Davie, Im new to the art of fly tying. I have tried tying a few quill buzzers, The problem i find is the quill i use seems to taper. In your video your stripped quill seems to be the same thickness. Could you tell me please if you use a specific make of peacock eye. Yours gratefully seddonjedi.
They are just plain Peacock Quills nothing special but if you have a good eye the quills closest to the centre are the best marked and not as tapered. To be honest with you the fish will not know the difference, just try and find the best marked quills from the pile.
Very nice.

Hi kwndgg,
I tye this pattern from size 8 to a size 14 but I would also tye it on a grub hook like a Kamazan B110.
