please explain how you add the shadow, i matchmoved a tank going down my street, and it doesnt have a shadow :(

add a ground plane and make it so that it's transparent except for the shadows.

you cann add the plane with alpha = 0 and set ztransp on. All this you can do without raytransp

or you can just check the "OnlyShadow" thing in the shaders tab.

The ztransp doesn't work for me.

hey one question, how did you get the shadow in there with the 3d model? I rendered my models with the footage, but I can't figure out how to make them cast shadows to make them look realistic.

Ok, now i'm totally confused. I've been doing 3d stuff (using 3ds max but mainly blender) for about 1 or 2 years, now i'm getting interested in vfx and merging cg and raw footage- i have already attempted this in after effects but the results weren't as clean as i originally wanted! I am considering getting voodoo and using it with max, but if you can use it with blender it's better! but i'm just confused how voodoo operates...

Well, I did it in Blender, so I had a plane for the floor surface that was invisible except for shadows.
