HOLY CRAP! THANKS, whoever posted this. I saw this "live", way back then, & didn''t record it. Always remembered opening with John drivin the old car. Saw JP twice during "electric" period.. About 20 years ago, saw him in Tarrytown at their little theatre. Out front for a cig, I see Springsteen & Patty pull up in a limo. Inside, nobody believes me. Bruce does 4 song encore. We stay after, JP comes out and meets, signs an old program, says "Boy you HAVE been following me a long time": He's GREAT

I remember seeing this on PBS in 1980, was blown away by this guy I had never heard of. I mentioned it to a friend the next day, he informed me that he had some of his albums. I borrowed the records..... long story short, I've been a fan ever since. I've seen him live six times through the years. He is a true American treasure!

I remember the first time I heard Mr. Prine back about 77 78 I was 15 or so. His storie's were funny so I listen to the music. I can't say being a teenager that I love it then. But now I can for sure. He's a great write because has such a great vision of whats going on around him. He see's the samethings we see but not the sameway. Yeah I would say he is a treasure and a genious. I hope he writes for another 30 yrs. Thanx John

This song was from Pink Cadilac, an album hated by a lot of Prine fans, but in my opinion, his greatest. Recorded in Memphis, produced by Sam Phillips' sons Knox and Jerry. Sam produced a couple of tracks himself. Do yourself a favor and pick up this album. It's as pure a record as you'll ever hear.

When John played at the Civic theater in Akron, my wife and I went around back after the show and waited to see John and Arlo Guthrie. There was just a few us. A guy came out and ask if we were waiting on John. We said 'Yes' and he then let us in and John came into the room and sat and talked with us for a half hour or so. He's a wonderful guy. Completely down to earth. I felt fortunate to get to spend that kind of time with him.

I love this. Prine has definitely been an inspiration and a source of great joy in my life. I had the best tickets to see him once--he was scheduled to appear at the Palace in Columbus, Ohio--and this goofy woman I was into at the time started a fight with me, a real boozy apocalypse of a fight, as was her way, and I couldn't attend the concert. I've listened to him for 30-odd years and have never seen him live, as a result. (I'm happy to say that the woman is History.)

I saw this show on PBS in 1980-Also saw Prine live at Exit Inn in Nashville in about 1975. Drank a beer.told a joke w/each song-carried out drunk by my table. My sister grabbed him! He was acoustic,went rock w/ 75's 'Common Sense'-Fav is CD Bruised Orange '78.

He is something. Saw him 3 yrs. earlier at my college. We picked him up at the airport, sat 10 feet in front of him at the concert,(after watching him drink about a case of beer first), then waited for him to pass out and fall into our laps. He never did fall, never missed a note or lyric, and strummed that Martin like it was a part of his arm. It's funny, I can't stand Bob Dylan, but this guy grabs my attention.
