Something like petting them in the rest position (usually different from sleep position), where they tuck their little paws underneath and kind of look like a Sphinx, that's okay.. but taunting your rabbit when he's either a) sleeping, or b) displaying signs of aggression, is almost abusive.
My rabbit does it too. She does a total barrel roll, usually when I've got her outside on her harness, so I have to untangle her little tum from the lead!

I dont take my rabbit outside anymore. None of the 7 harnesses I bought him fit.
