It's a great movie and and awesome satire of fascism and how it subtly creeps in to our society when we try to make it perfect. The whole war mongering (really the bugs sen an meteor from across the galaxy and managed to hit earth? ) by the government who started the war against the bugs and made them the bad guys.

Everybody looks perfect and they even show how to kill the enemy on TV, romanticizing war and only joining the army can give you citizenship.

That movie KICKED ASS.

Not every movie has to have some deep, intricate story line and involved plot. Some just want to have guns, titties, and lots of things blowing up - and it had all of them. It wasn't mean to be so deep that you cried during it - it was meant to be like "wow, holy shit, that bug just got its brains blown out" or "omg denise richards' titties are so hot" - and they did it quite well.

Epic movie, those who hate are only able to appreciate movies from limited perspectives.

The first starship troopers was amazing for coming out in 97. I remember when I first saw it I was very young and it was one of my favorites. Yay for nostalgia! Haven't seen it in awhile but it will always be one of those movies I remember and just be a classic for me. I saw the second one and it sucked so I don't think I am going to watch the third cause it lookes bad too. You know it is a bad sign when the 3rd which came out in 2008 has the same special effects the first one did..........
