Perfect hand position and the most relaxed right hand I've ever seen. That's very nice to see. Good work. I generally find Eastman tone thin on mandolins, but it seems to work very well for this sort of music.
@coughsyrup78 It's an octave mandolin. So just like a mandolin, but larger and tuned an octave down from a mandolin (so GDAE, just like a bouzouki, but with a shorter neck)
...but I restrung it to CGDA (a 5th down from a normal mandolin) so it's acting as a Mandola in this video.
You have something so different ,and it appeals to a much wider audiance than regular symphony music .You could do shows with a loop or add players. .Hope to see you in concert one day.
Ottima esecuzione.
Ciao e auguri.
I know the Brandenburg Concertos very well, and this is truly amazing! Today's technology is incredible, and you master it well! I remember in 1969 when this concerto was released on "Switched-On Bach". We have certainly come a long way since then!
Brilliant!!!
What programme have you used to make the video?

Does anyone know what the instrument in the upper right corner is (at the beginning)? It's like a larger mandolin.

actually..I think GDAD is more common for a bouzouki, but I know some ppl using GDAE

An absolutely wonderful rendition of one of humanity's greatest accomplishments, but the picture of Bach at 3:59 scared the shit out of me.

Amazing, You really manage to make the mandolin sing. I am really impressed by your skill.
Your performance reminded me of the recording of the brandenburg concerto's by trevor pinnock and the english concert.
Liked, added to playlist & favorites. *standing ovation*

Ben ,heres a tip from a 66 y o old player- Focus on the wood, not the electricity !
I love your music. The instrument sounds like a Gilchrist A, from Australia.
Good luck Ben & your Bach !

I wish you had used a Bowl Back Mandolin for the recordings. It will sound musc sweeter. Can you consider that for your next CD?
