@TehImmortalPunk Ultramarines wasn't fan made GW authorised it... but then they left the studio to their own devices... not so much as a penny of funding just their blessing to make it. Don't get me wrong I liked it and bought the DVD but it could have been so much better if GW had put their MASSIVE FUCKING WALLETS behind it. so yeah Ultramarines looks fan made because GW are stingy but it IS an official movie.

No the emperor would be pretty hard to cast. My personal choice (though cheesy and a bit old for it) would either be Christopher Lee (Saruman/Count Dooku) or Ian McKellen (Gandalf/Magneto) old but definately how I would think the Emperor speaks. (when not dead/interred in throne)

Awesome trailer, my only complaint is that the clips of M1 Abrams tanks are jarringly out of place. Clips of Leman Russ tanks rolling around in Dawn of War would be far preferable.

There was actually a series of real Gameworkshop live action films like that!

Unfortunately they were all on VHS and got destroyed in a fire. Only one still remains (you can see it on Youtube called Inquisitor). Not bad for what they had to work with :)

YEARS ago, a fan made set of trailers and films were done with approval by Games Workshop. It was used a promotional video GW ran during conventions. Some of it was pretty bad, but other parts were done well. The group of guys involved built not only Space Wolf terminator armour, but the live action Dark Angels (along with a Deathwing captain) is shown in this trailer.

If this had been the real trailer for the Ultramarines and the content of the movie had been like this it would have gained Cult status, unfortunetly the movie sucks, bad animations, no world discovery really, big ass ship and the Ultramarines looks like some wannabe Boss Lightyear figures (Yes the one from Toy Story) They aint the super humans they should have been, and where the fuck is the crew.. generally watch this hope that the crew that made Ultramarines watch it, and do a remake.

Whatever are you talking about? The Ultramarines movie even forgot the basic rule of "Bolters are rapidfire rocketlaunchers, not machineguns", and that's just the beginning. In addition Space Marines are mistrusted by their own sergeants when they say they spot something, an entire Space Marine Strike Cruiser with only a single squad of Space Marines and no other crew whatsoever (for no reason referenced in the movie, they act as if this is the way it should be).

They are by far the cheapest, easiest winning, over-powered race in the universe. If one were to make a hardcore WH movie, base it on the Imperial Guard, normal humans to which all movie goers can relate. Make into a trilogy, and introduce the Space Marines in the second film and Eldar in the third, each with their own heroes forming an epic tale.

For what they had to work with it was pretty darn faithful, and there's something awesome about watching a Space Marine bow with full conviction to me XD Besides, its one of the few examples of live action Warhammer in any good quality out there except Damnatus (and that's nearly impossible to find)
