  • 3:36 - 3:59 my favorite part...

  • non poteva scegliere canzone piu' difficile...

  • Oh, Plant, vc errou toda a letra, mas apesar de tudo, o Freddie deve ter dado boas gargalhadas no paraíso...

  • @rainbowsix1998 Come on...Immigrant Song must have been Queen just sort of fooling around in their own concert, surely without any rehearsal. One minute, completely wrong lyrics, played right after their impromptu set, which was a fooling around stuff as well. You can't fool around on Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. Comparing those two seriously is just a pure joke.

But I don't hate this that much anyway, it being the only Innuendo live with three quarters of Queen.

  • im totaly understand john now- queen without fredie is just not the same. and robert looks like his dying...

  • as everyone said, plant was not in shape here !

  • C'mon guys, Robert destroyed Innuendo but Queen destroyed Immigrant Song...

Both were the greatest rock bands ever

  • I can't believe you people are getting made at robert for some mistake he made almost 20 years ago! I mean seriously, get over it, its not the end of the world if he made big mistake in the past. we all make mistakes now & then.

  • ¡¡¿Qué le hicieron a esta canción?!!

  • Why are you saying Fuck you to Robert? Yeah me to...I use yo idolize this dude, still do at times...The mighty Led Zeppelin... Robert needs to thank his "lucky star" and that is none other than "the master" him self JIMMY PAGE!!!!!! John Paul Jones is the man>>>>the bass player and FOUNDATION OF THE BANF WHOM KEPT IT TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fuck you Robert.

  • whys he singing kazmir in the middle? LOL :-P

  • Think this was bad for everyone involved.... First time they played it live maybe...

  • WTF???????????????

  • No wonder why he's embarrased about this performance... it's awful.

  • @VforValmont Listen Robert plant in 1968.

  • @corero66 This performance's still awful

  • 4:00 PURE FUCKING METAL!!!!

  • Shame about the timing mistake with Brian and Roger.

  • This song : Innuendo is my all time favorite song. I've listened to is a million times ! I've bought the record 7 times... I love led Zeppelin : got all the records. But this version is a pure massacre ! It's horrible, a disaster !

  • worst vocal version ever

  • If i didn't know that Innuendo is Queen's song i'd said that it's Led Zeppelin song ; ) Too bad that mr Plant was in bad vocal condition but he performed this masterpiece really well ; )

  • He is trying too hard in the body performing instead of the singing.

  • This is the most difficult song of Queen , and probably the greatest....so dont blame mr Plant , he has proved his own greatness in the past..

  • @Nicolas1789k Irs a joke... but this version was ... the worst? =/

  • Robert plant should be in hell !!

  • @atlmetal Hmm could you explain why?

  • @atlmetal If you're basing it on this performance- so should Brian and Roger! Quite a lot of errors in that performance!

  • On any other day he would have performed it well but this day was not any other day...wish it was...

  • Comment removed

  • for someone who has never heared the song innuendo before but is a new found Queen And Led Zeppelin fan i thought Robert Plant preformed well.

  • Robert Plant on a good day could kill this song (not like Freddie did obviously, but you know what I mean). I honestly wish he'd take another crack at it.

  • A mashup like Queen + Robert Plant could've been epic--just needed a touch more rehearsal. Damn.

  • Did anyone else find the irony that Robert Plant couldn't remember the lyrics to a song that was written with Led Zeppelin in mind?

  • What's all the fuss about this song 'Innuendo?'

I mean, why write a song about an Italian suppository?

  • Just remember this song is similar to Kashmir....

  • worst ever

  • He was ill!

  • Stop saying bad things about Robert. He obviously had a bad day and a bad song choice. But 4:00 is MINDBLOWING !!

  • Que Robert Plant haya sido el elegido para cantar esta cancion que QUEEN nunca pudo interpretar en vivo con Freddie, la verdad es que me llena de dicha...

    Un verdadero homenaje al Rock...

  • To all you Crazed Freddie Fans, here we go: /watch?v=hnW7fB84yMQ

As Plant butchers Innuendo, Freddie DESTROYS Immigrant Song. The beginning screams sound like a chicken dying. Clearly this was out of Freddie's league. Freddie could never hit the highs like Plant did.

  • Plant kind of butchered the vocals. and I love Plant. Nobody compares with Freddie.

  • the instrumental is spot on

  • plant probably didn't know the song well, and once you lose a tight rein on a tour de force like this, you lose it all & can only play catchup. freddie also forgot his own songs and the key many times, but one thing about him is he was never afraid to look silly & fight to bitter end instead of playing it safe. robert played it safe here & live aid for damage control. it's THE robert plant of course & all's willingly forgiven. tho i wish freddie got cut more slack than he seldom did!

  • @edmame Freddie RARELY messed up.

  • Never was a fan of Led Zep, Queen destroy them.

  • @Highlander01 Silence.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos Excuse me? This isn't a library.

  • @Highlander01 Definitely not but your comment was still beyond retarded. As much as I love Queen, you biased Queen-fans are annoying.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos Hold on, "retarded" is a bit strong. It's my opinion, dude. I grew up listening to Queen, 27 years ago. Queen introduced me to music so of course I'm going to be bias. If I were you, I wouldn't waste time posting. We get it, you don't like biased Queen fans. What about biased Led Zep fans? Do you hate them, also?

  • @Highlander01 Yes, I hate biased fans in general. I just don't see why can't there be any respect for other bands. Plant here tried to showcase that he respects Mercury but people just trashtalk him like idiots. This surely wasn't Plant's best performance (though still OK vocals) and nothing close to the original vocal-wise but Plant was ill while performing this. Give respect for those who deserve it.

  • Comment removed

  • @GoodGuitarSolos You're mistaken. I give plenty of respect to other bands (May come as a surprise to you, but I do like bands other than Queen,). Queen, like Led Zep, The Beatles, etc will always have biased fans, because of their popularity. A band, such as Queen, have attained legendary status, they have legions apon legions of fans, so bias fans come natural. I actually respect Led Zep, I just didn't like Plants performance at this concert.

  • @Highlander01 Well, that comment was much better than I expected. It is (sadly) true that huge fanbases have biased fams but still, respect should be kept. I can agree that this wasn't the best peformance of the night but still OK and definitely good for seeing Plant doing a tribute for Mercury.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos "Better than expected?" - well I'm glad my last comment got your approval.

  • Why is it that when Led Zep reunited for Live Aid, they SUCKED...vocally, didn't have it together and blamed Phil Collins. Yet when Queen took the stage, they OWNED Live Aid. Granted, Queen had been a touring UNIT, however, when I hear Mr. Plant butcher this song and not come prepared properly, I just marvel at the fact that Queen were PERFECTIONISTS and well rehearsed in order to give the fans their money's worth. The guys from Zep, uh...not so much.

  • @Robertg71 Damn, you biased Mercury fanboys.

  • Just goes to show you that not even the GREAT, LEGENDARY Robert Plant can touch Freddie's vocal prowess...

  • @Robertg71 Just goes to show that every fucking singer out there has bad nights, even Plant and Mercury. Stop fanboying, you dumb tool.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos

Eat a dick. Plant has nothing on Freddie clown. Now run off and go play with your meat.

  • @Robertg71 "Eat a dick"? You are an ignorant fanboy with no musical credibility whatsoever. Sadly so.

I really love Queen and especially Mercury (my idol) but your comments are idiotic. Plant was a huge idol for Freddie, and technically they are close to each other as singers: two fantastic vocalists. Now go back to your cage, you fucking dog.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos

Look dude, quit trying to pick up on me. Go play anal tongue darts with yourself.

  • @Robertg71 I think you two should just agree to disagree.

Lets face it, whether your a Queen or Led Zep fan, or both - Freddie and Plant are incredible singers in their own right.

There. Now, let's get on with our lives.

  • @Highlander01 Thanks for the comment, I agree.

  • @Robertg71 Shut the hell up, fanboy. I'm just trying to ask a little bit of respect for Plant from you but you are childish asshole with no worthy features of living. Go play your anal tongue darts, you seem to know a lot about 'em, kid.

  • @pissantparade : well 1995 is after the Mercury tribute! And Plant has also hit his highest notes in Since I've been loving you at 2007 reunion, so he can still do it! And SIBLY was NOT in a lower key at the reunion!

  • no one as freddie !!!!!! but he did it good

    Long live Freddie !!!!

  • it was 19 years ago I sat & watched this entire concert while taping it?

  • Robert was extremely brave to attempt this song. Talk about putting yourself out there!! There will never be another Freddie!!

  • looks like plants was addicted hahaha! but the Queen play well the instrumental

  • Crimen Sollicitationis

  • Innuendo is a particularily easy Queen song to sing compared to most.

Plant didn't know the lyrics and could barely follow along with the tune. He admitted himself he wasn't prepared (he was on holiday up until the concert) and has requested that this song never be released officially.

Good on him for showing up and lending his name in support, and he did a much better job of Crazy Little Thing. But this song (along with Live Aid) represents the worst of Plant.

  • This song is not even particulary high for Plant, infact many queen songs aren't! He has hit higher notes even in Going to California!

He just wasn't at his best voice that night and he sadly didn't learn the lyrics!

He could do it perfectly in the seventies and even now when he is in his best voice!!

Search for: Page Plant Glastonbury 1995 Since i've been loving you , to see how great his voice still is!!

  • @Samoplant "still is"... with a video from 16 years ago?

  • this made me realise just how great Freddie really was

  • Grande

  • people need to stop comparing Freddie and Robert, there both unique. and both great singers. this is a TRIBUTE concert. Robert was trying to out do Freddie, he was paying tribute to him. and as for people saying that Robert wasnt hit high high notes, he's gotten older, it happens. great performance.

  • Roger is such a great Drummer VERY VERY underrated.

  • 7 Finally, at 5:32, Robert butchers the high notes (this IS Zeppelin dude, right? Come on. You've hit HIGHER), and misses the last signature wail at the end of the song. Fail. Fail. Fail.

Granted, it's not his song. However, it's a tribute to one of the greatest singers of all time in front of thousands of people. Try to be fuckin' on point, dude.

  • @pissantparade Yes he is the lead singer of Led Zeppelin but you must also remember that he is human, and isn't above from making mistakes. He already knew that, hence why he requested the band not to include this performance onto the DVD.

  • @Stuart0000X Listen, I never said dude was impervious to error, and for the record, I love Zep. My comment was in indirect reply to the people commenting on how "Plant does it SO much better than Freddy" and "OH MY GOD THAT WAS AMAZING." They're fooling themselves, this is a terrible version of the song.

  • 5. at 3:16 he starts making up lyrics... I have the studio version of this song and this part isn't in the song. That ends at around 3:38, where the lyrics come back in correctly.

    6. All of this confusion and the terrible sound of his voice obviously threw the rest of the band, because May and Deacon fall apart. At 4:00, Deacon makes the cymbal clamp but May doesn't come in with him... jumps in a moment later, where at 4:03, Deacon jumps the gun, stops, misses a cymbal crash, and then comes in.

  • @pissantparade In defence of 5. he is singing Kashmire, a well known song of Led Zepplin and from what i can gather of the guitar chords, it was obviously predetermined that this section from Kashmire should be placed in the centre of this performance.

  • @Stuart0000X Duly noted.

  • Plant completely tears the vocal part to shreds, doesn't do it a bit of justice. My gripes:

    1. Forgets to come in in the beginning at 0:57

    2. at 1:41 forgets a word

    3. Misses every note in the chorus

    4. Comes in a FULL MEASURE early at 1:54, causing the band to try and "make up the mistake", upon which Brian May becomes confused and misses the "patch-up" chord change at 2:04, at which point Plant ONCE AGAIN screws the lyrics up.

    (continued)

  • Steve Howe (Yes) played the acoustic guitar leads on the original: he is missed in the "flamenco" section.

Nevertheless, this is a decent performance. Queen and Percy made a pretty good match, actually.

  • honesly this song is made for freddie but robert did a awesome job. and in some parts he is equaly gooda s freddie

  • Probably Robert Plant did not pretend to perform like Freddie, but rather to sing in memory of him, also considering that Robert's voice is quite similar to Freddie's one.

Notice also that, Robert's voice rivals other's famous ones, especially at Led Zeppelin times.

    Thank you Robert

  • Plant falsify, and did not enter a phrase !!!!!!!! rubbish performance!

  • Robert Plant even said that every singer performing at Freddie's tribute had to sing in lower notes. This is a testament to how great Freddie was.

Robert did a good job. Freddie would have been proud.

  • Yes I would like have heard Plant do it before his time, before he was 44, before the years of brutal touring and maybe even some alcohol consumption. Freddie is Freddie, RP is RP two legends. The real question is when will we have more SINGERS in music?

  • nothing wrong with this to my ears.... this was a fantastic show, and a great idea to have lots of different vocalists doing their own interpretension of the songs... no one's trying to be freddie.. robert plant sings this song like robert plank, how else would he do it? it's a shame they don't still tour with multiple guest vocalists.. i'm sure there'd never be a shortage of them willing to do it!!

  • @brushuk well that's my two penneth, and i think we should remember, it's not easy singing other peoples songs, especially famous songs that everybody knows.... i think this was a good job.. and indeed a great concert.

  • @brushuk Plant did a good job. Freddie would be impressed.

  • CHE DISASTRO DI VOCE!!! PECCATO...SUONATA BENISSIMO!

  • if he actually took the time to learn the words it would have been amazing.

  • if he actully took the time to learn the words it would have been amazing.

  • the best singer is david coverdale

  • Robert Plant suks !!!!

  • Robert Plant said himself that he hates this performance and is embarrassed by it, he asked for it not to be included on the official Fredddie Mercury Tribute dvd and it wasnt. He admitted that he didnt rehearse enough for this performance of Inuendo. To my ears however it sounds very good.

  • freddies an opera trained singer as far as i know, if he wasnt better as in more polished and professional, i would be surprised. Plant is one of my favorite singers, but i havent even heard freddie sing and know hes not gonna be as good. Its not so much about skill as it is about hte feel of the song, music comes from the heart...period.

  • solo hecho a perder una gran obra de arte

  • After watching a performance like that from the "legendary" Roger Plant you have to quickly stick on some Led Zep to remember why this guy is so respected. You would really have to be a dire hard Plant fan to say this was a good performance. In all honesty it's his fault he shouldn't have chosen to sing such a vocally demanding song, to think he could do that song justice and get anywhere near close to Freddies vocals on this track smack is comical.

Plant let himself down here. Sorry.

  • Ok, big Queen fan, and gigantic Zeppelin fan, Innuendo must be my no. ! Queen number. But I had mixed feelings about this, didn't really like it. At least not when I know what the full potention off Plant and Brian May is. Sry for my opinion.

  • @MakCurrel Agreed. Robert Plant didnt really work out in this setting I feel.

  • non si puo' sentire...

  • @unaltromondo anzitutto e' un live e plant ha i suoi anni, guardati qualche live degli zeppelin degli anni 70 e capirai tante cose, anche che mercury era solo un bimbo allora...

  • nonsi puo' sentire...

  • I love plant but gee this song was out of his league!

  • @vanhalen8200 his voice is shot

  • @vanhalen8200 at this time yeah

  • Ok i get sick of so many crap like the crap you all guys are talking. Plant in his time, i mean 69-74 was unique, like freddy was. For the people that doesnt know it, Plant had an accident that change his voice forever. Please guys dont compare two legends, its like compare hendrix with page....its stupid and innecesary, are legends each one because their trayectory. Sorry for my english.

  • Not bad. But this song is almost impossible for anybody to sing.. except Freddie of course..

  • @wupstorm

I think James LaBrie from Dream Theater could do it as well. Listen to his version of Tenement Funster / Flick of the Wrist / Lily of the Valley. It's here on Youtube.

  • @wupstorm I love freddie but I think that even freddie would have a hard time singing this live. Remember that recording in the studio is very different than singing live. You can tape one lyric x-times if you want but live you have to hit it right on the first try. And even freddie went of key a lot of times. He didn't sing it wrong, he just sang in a different key. You can't stand on stage for 1h and expect to be at the top of your game all the time :P. But I actually prefferen his live vocals

  • @wupstorm Not bad? He was terrible here, he even thought so himself so they removed this from the recordings.

  • @wupstorm I'm sure that Robert was able to sing it too in his younger days

  • @wupstorm The Bohemians from Russia can do it

  • @wupstorm I wish Ronnie James Dio was there

  • Plant and Freddie are awesome. you can't compare THIS Robert plant with Freddie on his top performance. check out 1968-1972, when Robert was ON FIRE......

  • Of course Plant in this concert can't be compared with Freddy, but we can't forget that this is a live version and that Plant had lost his voice in 1976.

People who insult Plant for this (I admit) bad performance never listened to Led Zeppelin songs.

  • I love Robert Plant but he is definitely not in Freddie's league. Nobody..and I mean NOBODY can match Freddie...just listen to Plant struggle here. I'm not hammering Plant...he is awsome, but he just doesn't have Fredie's range on this song, nor did I expect him to. If you wanna see a better performance by Plant with Queen, check out Crazy Little Thin Called Love at this same concert. He nailed it!!!

  • At 6:19, Roger Taylor failed : he haves to punch its cymbal and doesn't it. ^^

A la minute 6:19, Roger Taylor se loupe : il doit donner un coup de cymbale mais ne le fait pas. ^^

  • Boo robert plant has fucked this song up he can't sing either he doesn't have shit on freddie.

I bet if you get every male singer who you think can sing get them to sing this song I bet they couldn't do it freddie's the best and was the best even when he was really ill and look at these guys who are healthy and can't even get a decent tempo.

The only guy who could sing this ok would be a-ha's mortem harkett

  • Sorry to say guys, I'm fan of both bands (Queen and Zep) but Plant is not singing half of what he used in Whole Lotta Love or Black Dog and in this specific one (Innuendo) Freddie was outstanding and used his unique high range vocal (if you notice Plant is struggling at the end of the song), but it's Robert Plant singing with Queen, it's history!!!!!!

  • It's hard to do Freddie...RP

  • man...it's sooo good of Robert that he sang many Queen songs in this tribute concert...that only shows he appreciate Freddie Mercury sooo much... :)

  • this sounds prety bad lol

  • great Robert Plant in a great song!!!

  • i have to say i love the both of them they are both legends in thier own right. yes plant might of goofed on this song but he had the courage to do this in front of half the world. lets face it he even had the courage to wear that horrible shirt lol

  • ouch!

  • Leave Plant alone he's one of the best frontmen ever in my opinion

up there with Freddie Mercury, Roger Daltrey, Steven Tyler and Axl Rose

  • Too many errors in this exhibition

  • Robert Plant is without a doubt the best replacement for Freddie Mercury. Both of them have incredible voices.

  • Comment removed

  • Poor Freddie Mercury!

  • its not terrible at all. what do you want plant to do go on and sing pitch perfect note for note and try and sound like freddie? its immposible it was freddies song and his soul he was putting out for us to listen to. Plant did the right thing he took the song and paid homage to freddie by doing it his way! and threw in a bit of kasmiir to

  • What a terrible performance by Robert Plant! he often goes out of time, starts to sing too late and forgets the lyrics!!!

  • Of course Freddie was better becuse this is his song he. He owns this song but if you Freedie would sinng Kashmir it would be like this. Not as good as the original but unique. This are two great singers stop compering them.

  • I just realized why the flamenco part isn't in there since brian may couldn't play it lol

  • @b0nz0fan

They didn't play it live 'cause Brian didn't play it in studio. Steve Howe did, and he wasn't there that day. Still glad they did this track, though. Would've been one of Queen's most epic live with Freddie.

  • did they practise together before concert?

    Too many mistakes!

    What a shame.

  • No fucking way plant's performance is equally good as freddie. We're talking about Freddie Mercury, the best singer in the history. No one can sing as good as freddie his songs.

Plant did it great, but Freddie is unique.

  • @Maarttiin Good reply, i agree :)

  • @Maarttiin SO NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Robert is much better than Fredie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! did you ever listen to robert? whole lotta love, black dog, kashmir? i love Fredie and all but plant is the best

  • @yaara875846 Woah dude...I get you're a Plant fan but Freddie has a bigger range than Plant. His voice is described as being crystal clear high to rock growl lows, he had a four octave range...saying anyone is better than Freddie might be a tad too much of an overstatement. Plant stuck to his rock and rock oriented styles while Freddie did everything. Ragtime, Opera, Rock, Heavy Metal, Pop, Soul you name it. Funk even. So yeah.

  • @Maarttiin I'd rather hear Freddy sing Queen and Plant sing Zep, but if Freddie ain't around, I'm more than happy to listen to Plant do Queen

  • @Maarttiin I think singers like Plant, Gillan or Dio are at last in the same league that Freddy or even higher.

  • @Maarttiin

U don't understand a fuck about music, asshole!

  • @Maarttiin Sorry man..I prefer Plant..Mercury is the King of Queen but Robert Plant is The God of Zeppelin!

  • @Maarttiin Honestly you can't say this at all, seeing how their are people with different opinions in the first place, and second, Plant was the one who influenced Mercury in the first place. So lets see who's unique now...

  • @Maarttiin No argument here, but I would love to hear Plant in hsi pime do this! There seemed to be no absolute prime for Freddie. I would bet on Freddie but it would have been amazing to see a Queen/Zep tour in the late 70's.

  • @Maarttiin jonh lennon???? he is too unique

  • @Maarttiin This song was inspired by Led Zeppelin.

  • @Maarttiin That's fucking bullshit, even worse. Not even shit.

  • what is that poor fkn thing ..!! must feel shame .. didn't he ever hear Freddie Mercury doin it like a real God !! ekk

  • Kashmir?

  • wow see? he sings kashmir at the slow part

  • Great 1111

  • @Sprintimeboy lmao you fuckin ass

  • for gods sake robert... this is cringeworthy

  • @range567W So...you have shit speakers. Is he older? Yes. his voice has aged.

Is he Freddie? No, this is very much a Robert Plant performance. Is it good? Compared to everyone else at the tribute (except bowie who sang his own part), Plant just proved why he is a golden god.

  • @hortoncrow "This is very much a plant performance", Then by that you mean robert plant is shit? Sorry, I like Led Zeppelin and Plant, but this performance was indeed shit. Proved he was a golden god? Why do you think he had this removed from the dvd? Because of his very mediocre performance. And your sure as hell right that hes not Freddie.

  • @range567W Oh fuck, he's just gotten old.....actually he had a bigger range than Freddie Mercury during Led Zeppelin 1......Freddie is better anyway. But Plant is also very good....he's just gotten old!

  • Plant is awesome but comparing him to Freddy is immposible because Freddy's voice was too much amazing and beautiful and completly on another level but I think Plant still did a good jod

  • the way Innuendo is performed there it could easily be one of Led Zeppelin's songs. amazing performance.
