i dont remember metcalf much in college but i know when he was in cleveland he became my fav player and i did everything i could to be like him...he was reggie bush BEFORE reggie bush. i dont think there's anyway he could've gotten the heisman tho. BARRY was obliterating ALL KINDS of records his last yr in 88-89 at oklahoma st..
Nobody before or since can run like Eric Metcalf! Probably the most instinctive and talented runner/receiver to ever play college football. Imagine him in Texas' spread offense of today!!
mac brown didnt put jack stamp back on the map. the REAL mac attack- john macovich- did that. he won the last swc title ever and the first big 12 title ever. mac brown has kept the ball rolling in a major way, but the mac attack is what set him up for success......
Put Eric Metcalf in a modern spread offense and his numbers would have been awesome. His size and skill set have become the norm in college football, 20 years after his college career ended. I remember him for being probably the only thing that kept Texas competetive during those tough and lean years in the late 80's and well after, until Mack Brown put us back on the map to stay. Eric The Great, one of a kind.
I met dis dude at the club last nite and i didnt kno who he was untill i looked him up. He now wants 2 bend me over and get me pregnant and i said...sure! (I hope hes not married!)
belive it or not my mom met this guy last night and didnt belive he was a player... comes home i lok it up and there he is..... all over youtube with records still standing to this day...
Does anyone have the footage of him on MNF making the Bengal's linebackers and corners look like they had concrete in their shoes. I think it was his rookie year. It was only about a 10 yard touchdown run, but what moves!!!
But what the bloody motherfuck is that horrible music? If I were a voter, I'd probably leave him off my ballot in protest if Texas sent me something with that shit on it. I'm guessing your marketing has come a long ways in the last 20 years.
I'm too young too remember any of those games, but I wish I wasn't. That play where runs the toss sweep and then turns on the afterburnerss around the corner is flat-out amazing.
Someone had to have added that song later, there's no way they sent that video to Heisman voters like that.

What are people thinking--that Alabama sang this song to Eric Metcalf??
Alabama released the song and some retard at the University of Texas attached it to a video of Metcalf.
I'm sure the singer and Metclaf are more p'd off than anybody else.

I ran the 60 meter dash against him in college at the KU relays. He was unbelievably fast. Everyone but him was going for 2nd place.

"You Got the Touch?" How about the Stan Bush version from Transformers the Movie. That would have made Eric a lock for the Heisman.

This is how I see Noel Devine turning out. fast, but to small(170lbs). Both good runners, just not the right sizes.

Yeah, but Eric was a WAY better reciever in the NFL than Terry.

I think that music's from Alabama a country group who were popular in the 80's and early 90's. There best song is Closer you Get.

Believe me, you DON'T wish you were old enough to remember those years. Metcalf was great, but it was possibly the worst 4 years in UT history.
