I love watching the evolution of such awesome bands. When this album came out, I thought it was the hardest most amazing stuff ever! Now, their new stuff has evolved into something different. That's how you stay alive so long. Just keep changin' it up but never changin' who you are. Disciple represents proper!

@corifergooseslayer I just started listening to them, and though I like the rap/rock genre, I was shocked to find their older stuff to sound like this lol. The singer's got too bad of an ear for vocal melody to have maintained the rap/rock style for long. It's probably best they changed their style.

Disciple has got soft and their lyrics aren't as good as they were. Disciple was once of those crazy-hardcore Christian bands (lyrically) that had Bible passages alongside most lines of lyrics...I don't think they do that any more.

I can totally understand what you're saying, but Kevin (vocals, and bass back in the day) said that he wrote lyrics that would allow Disciple to play in venues where they could never go before as a "Christian band" and so now when they go out places they play their regular gig and then Kevin uses whatever opportunity he has to spread the Gospel of Jesus to those who haven't come to the Savior yet.

I agree that their new stuff is different than their older albums, but there is still a great message in it. Lay My Burdens Down, Savior, After the World, Fight for Love all great songs with great messages from their two most recent albums.

each of their albums are different! Scars Remain was like major rock screamo but Southern Hospitality had a southern rock sound to it...thats MAJOR talent, but in my opinion Scars Remain was their BEST! ^_^
