I don't understand why everyone is so excited by a cold started engine lol. I drive tractor trailer and my engine is cold every morning...It's just another day. A few weeks ago it was below zero here, talk about a cold start lol. I get pretty sick of hearing diesel engines all day and shifting a million times too . The last thing I would own for my personal vehicle is a diesel with a standard transmission.
In my car, an Audi A4, built 2002, a 6 cylinder 2,5 litre diesel engine, turbo charged, makes 160 HP at 4000 RPM. Starts well at -18 degrees Celsius. Runs up to 210 km/h. With the built in automatic CVT transmission, fuel consumption less than 7 litres Diesel at 100 km. At top speed, less than 10 litres! Diesel power is great!
@Zwitchau, As the title says it a: "Detroit Diesel Series 60" with an Allison Transmission. And this is one of my favorite engines along with the big Caterpillar Diesels, which i also have videos of. Thanks alot for the comment....cool, -BOGAR!
buzzers on american trucks and buses when they start the vehicle a buzzer comes on until air pressure builds up to about 125 psi. when theirs a leak or something blows in the system the buzzer comes on at or about 60-70 psi because before 60 psi the breaks are going to lock up as a saftey meausure. and like most people dont notice a dim flashing light on the dash you could lose your air pressure and have your breaks lock up on you on the highway and your stuck in the middle of the road.
Well if it's a cold start how come you have air in the air brakes system??? And about the controls and it has waaaays to go to catch up with the European buses like M.A.N., Neoplan, Setra, Volvo, Scania and Mercedes
Hello "matey7540"! The air brake syatem does not have to be empty to be a cold start. In fact alot of buses dont lose any air at all from sitting 2 days. This bus had sat over night and has low air as a result, and that is indicated by the low air warning system at the start up. As for the rest of your comment, its fine.....you are very welcome to state your opinion. Thanks for viewing and commenting, -BOGAR!
Hello"valleyfever"! Yeah i sure like the layout of the dash myself, it provides ease of use while over the road. Thanks for viewing and commenting! -BOGAR!
that sounds like a Cat. OH SHIT... lol.. i just read it .. i knew it was a cat just by the sound .. and i see it says its a c-13 one of my favorite engines. Thats what powers our Sutphen Fire trucks here in my city. Cool video.
Hello "allenjanoch"! The fuel gage, most of the time erroneously displays Empty when just started cold started. But there is a card that shows when, where and who fueled it, and shows how many Gallons were put in. Thanks, -BOGAR!

How come an 06 bus got a instrument from something that was made in the 80s?
Also that engine is very noisy.
Over here on our big busses you can bearly hear the engine even with the doors open.

why do american cars, trucks, buses and stuff all seem to have those annoying little buzzers? lol
2491cc 2 years ago 15
on cars it means your seatbelt or door is open or ubucled. on trucks and buses it either has to do with the air brakes or your engine
patriotsfz 2 years ago
But i know if my seatbealt is on, i know if the door is open. A flashing light is more than enough. An annoying buzzer is too much lol
