  • the sheep really didn't care otherwise he would not be able to shear it like that.

  • Don't that "bleat" all

  • Good in short time you done your job..

    Habib

  • I sheared for about 15 years... I used the Sunbeam electric shears, different than these here, and I found the sheep did not like the vibration at all...At times I had unruly sheep underfoot...

  • You people don't know anything! I am an aussie shearer at the age of 16..I have been shearing for 2 years in big sheds around victoria. For 1, it's not called fur or hair! its called wool!! For 2, who cares if you dont like how they are being held, thats the only way to do it. For 3, it does not hurt them when they are being shorn and if you cut them they dont really care! For 4, if you think it is cruel go back to the city and suck a dick, if you dont shear them they will die from to much wool.

  • Get us a job shearing would ya, im from vic too.

  • @cryptikmoon3000 wow you started when you were 14? i just got started at 16 and i love it! i shear around montana, north and south dakota, and wyoming. it sure is annoying when people who dont know a thing about sheep start making a stink about how we make a living! keep the comb on the hide!!

  • You should then hear the noise afterwards when the lambs and ewes do not recognise each other. hahaha

  • that was a cool video at first i didnt like the sheep held that way but then i read the comment and it makes sense he did a great job quick and at least she's a sheep not a pig or cow cuz imagine what they are bread for.

    kudos dude

  • That was cute! I'm glad you didn't hurt her. They look so cute and funny with all their fur shaved! :)

  • you guys are SLOW!! My grand father was super fast and didn't rip the sheep up either

  • That's the way to do it, no it won't hurt the sheep you put them on there bums and they stay put they do wriggle at times.

  • Are you sure that it doesn't hurt to shear a sheep? She looked like she was being held against her will and smothered for at least 2 minutes. I don't want anyone holding me down and cutting off my air for that long! And she didn't walk away happily--she ran.

  • You can equate it to someone shaving your head with clippers. So long as they are experienced, it should be comfortable. As for her being held against her will, if I was an animal and thought like a sheep, I wouldn't want anything close to me that makes an unnatural noise, as it's against my instinct to be near it. But I believe they're thankful during the summer months that they're not dying of heat exhaustion. :)

  • u r so rite.i like u.lol.

  • Wherever I can be of service. :)

  • One of the big reasons the farmer hired me was due to I have a reputation for being quick and gentle while shearing sheep. This ewe was days away from lambing, so the job had to be done properly. The longer you take shearing the more stress on the ewe. As you saw, about two minutes shearing time and she got up and walked happily away. Try holding a sheep if you think I was not gentle!

  • I wholeheartedly agree, some people are totally oblivious to common sense. I have katahdin sheep that don't require shearing, but I can directly relate to your situation. We both care about the animals, and do the best that we can. Yet at the same time, we can't expect the animals to always enjoy what we have to do to them as regular maintenance (worming, shearing, castrating, etc).

  • but they wud like it if u did it nice cuz it wud b rude if sumbody gave u a haircut n they were just givin u scrapes n scratches, n also if they did do that u can just tell dem 2 stop but sheep cant cuz we cant understand them so if they do yelp or cry u guyz just ignore n keep on doin it rudly.

  • alanidaph shearing doesn't scrape and scratch sheep. any one that calls them self a shearer has their gear set up so it cuts wool cleanly, you ride over the skin and the points on the front of the comb dont jab the skin because they have a sort of rounded edge.

  • @woolyway she is a good girl that sheep you can comment on claire has to feed her lambs
