Sorry but the gun did not hit on the rear, If the gun hit on the rear on the slide plate the sight would have not moved from left to right. The gun hit on the side to move the sight. Like I said take a rubber mallet and hit the slide plate and see what happens. Glock already has done extensive testing on this. I’m far from being an expert. But I have or have owned 15 Glocks and I also shoot Glock competition.

Take a rubber hammer and strike it on the back of the slide, The gun will fire. If you don't think it will tell that to a friend of mine when his Glock fell out of his holster hit on the rear of the slide and wet off. Just mised his private parts and went out his back.

I suggest getting the book The Glock in Competition and read page 15. The gun well fire when hit from the rear when the trigger safety is removed. You never hit the gun from the rear all of your drops were on the side.

@unclebob46 Glock has NATO stock numbers on their 17s and 19s which means they had to undergo stringent testing including drop tests on concrete at as many angles as possible without firing. It's also been drop tested countless times by police agencies around the world without issues. That leads me to the conclusion that you're full of it, and saying "ASK MY FRIEND" is not real, viable proof that any Glock will fire if dropped on the back of the slide.

you might lose sear connection and have an AD. Please reconsider this mod. Aldo please message me if you would like to discuss it any. Ive might be mistaken but Im pretty sure that could be a pretty dangerous mod. That "squish" you feel in the factory glock trigger isnt just pre-travel, its the trigger raising the firing pin block, finishing the draw stroke of the striker and finally stopping at the sear connect point. It needs to go through this to function safetly! sorry long reply!

Okay I watched the installation vid, Unless Im mistaken, what was probably meant by not "drop safe" is that that trigger defeats the firing pin block mechanism at least partially, if not totally, so what you have is a half cocked striker ready to fall on the pistol primer. This is very dangerous for several reasons. its not like a series 70 1911 that has a half cock notch to catch the hammer in case of mechanical failure. To me a pistol with a hair trigger and no manual safety is pointless if you have to rack the slide b4 u fire. but dosent seem safe to carry locked and cocked idk... im not a glock expert maybe im missing something

I'll confess that I don't own a Glock, but I have fired them a few times and I thought the whole point of a Glock was that there was a firing pin block which would prevent accidental discharge from a drop. Obviously, I'm missing something you Glock-heads understand. Please give me some guidance.

One of the criteria that the Austrian gov't directed for choosing a new pistol for military use was that the gun would have to be able to be dropped from a height of 2 meters onto a solid steel plate without the weapon discharging even once. The Glock WAS selected for use by the Austrian Army so the Glock HAS to have passed that test in order to even be considered, let alone chosen. Just some food for thought.

@tchapman1977 Yes but. The stock glock doesnt have a trigger that raises the firing pin block partially out of the way in order to take up the slack. You could drop a glock from alot more than 2 meters on the muzzle and the firing pin cannot make contact with the bullet primer. Ive never seen a trigger like this but if it raises the block in taking up the slack it could be a not so hot idea. If it doesnt contact the firing block plunger and still takes up the slack..well thats interesting!

The only way to really test it is dropping from 10 feet with a round in the chamber, fully loaded, and in the sand or maybe in a saltwater marsh (how's that for a youtube sacrifice?) ;)

@Rigge1988 how cna I possible test that? the onyl effect a bullety in the chamber would do is add the weight of an extra bullet, in this test I added 2 extra than normal so I ahve more weight in thatn a normal glock 17 in conition 1...you dont need a bullet in the chamber to know if the trigger went off...

There is a striker block that makes it impossible for the gun to fire without pulling the trigger... But this is a great test seeing that you have the new trigger in the gun.
