Honestly... those birds didn't scream or act out even once. You've got them trained so well that they behaved better than a human child would have. Heck, a kid after a long day like that would have started either going crazy and being annoying or started moaning because he or she wanted to go home. Bravo on you awesome bird-owner skills.
i really enjoyed this video and how you have taken your birds out with you. people look at me with surprise when i take my birds out so it is nice to see others also giving their birds much happiness.
W O W....I cant believe you take these guys shopping. That is sooooo adorable. I wish I could take Tookie out like that....but he would probably fly away.
Ha hahaha Clip their wings. It's awful the stories I hear of them flying away. I know it's a lot more freedom to leave uncliped. I choose to spend more quality time with them by clipping their wings safer than the thought of them getting lost and wondering if they got saved or eaten. Agree? They don't seem to mind. We Love them a lot.
Tookies r 'kinda' clipped. He spends his day in the aviary and comes in every single night. I can't clip em to much or he couldn't get round in the aviary properly, otha wise it would be a serious 'chop chop'!
If the birds knew how goofy they looked to other people and cared about it, they wouldn't be such great companions and such lovely little darlings now would they? :D
he heh We are so proud of Sunny's progress. To think he was a wild breeder and when we got him you couldn't stand in the same room much less put your finger in his cage he would bite. Now he's a wonderful pet. he fell in love with one my first bird O'Hanah. She and he started saying boy toy to each other. The rest is history.
Lots of personal time. Currently every bird is a member of my family you might say. We talk to them constantly and let them out only under supervision. That means in the begining they would fly to the floor and get picked up immediately. etc. Once you have a couple that act correctly the rest follow along MUCH easier by example.
It's never always perfect though :-). But we love them all.
I have looked up those statistics also for my own concern. Actually we use carriers more then not. It depends on the birds. When I looked it up, there were statistics that supported, and also those that didn't. A Bird slammed into the front of a carrier during a car crash, or a dog seat belted in a car seat, has just the same survival rate as those not in carriers, due to their delicate nature. I plan to drive as safe as possible. I can certainly appreciate your concern. I will research again.
My owner used to let me ride on his shoulder in the car. One day he told me the air bag would kill me if it went off, so now I have to ride in the carrier he made for me.
Ohh yeah, those two are buddies. :) It's cute how people want to play with your birdies and how much your birds want to play with other people. Talk about good socialization! PS. You spoil your birds way past rotten. :P

P.S. If you notice also... We wear seat belts at all times. It is proven if HUMANS wear them they save lives.
So does following the speed limit. :-)

Nothing LOL He's a Male Indian Ringneck. They get a bright Red stripe upon maturity. It takes about 2 years.
Sunny is about 5 years old I think.

I may be mistaken, but I think there is nothing wrong with that Indian Ringneck's neck :)
