  • Very clean rig and nice nice work on the recap!

  • Joe,

Would appreciate if you could give me the source and the name of the spray paint that you used to paint your Viking Ranger. Heard on your video the name DFGM 253 but am not sure if I have that correct.

    Many thanks,

    Jim

    Jim,

Paint used is Dupli Color DS-GM353 Dark Maroon. I got it at Auto Barn here in NY. You should be able to find it at any large auto store, Advance, auto Zone Pep Boys etc. or on the web via mail order.

  • Nice video. Thanks for the tips. I just picked up a Ranger at Dayton last year

(2009) and hope to get it on the air soon. 73... AL - N8AGU

  • Great looking radio..

  • You could have tapped off of the filament supply to power the relay using a voltage doubler circuit.

  • I enjoyed the video Joe.

It has motivated me to have a go at restoring old rigs myself. I'm looking for my first project right now.

  • Very cool Joe. How did you apply the paint? Spray, brush or other?

  • I stripped the panel and cabinet, primered and spray painted them.
