@earthling1984 ok ill get one of the floating logs which they can bask on if they like to, i also hav a feature which they love its like 3-4 logs all put together which they like to climb on.
Hey finally got my common musks there tiny about 3cm long they never really bask so I'm gonna replace dock with a floating log think tht wud be good plz message back
@thebroadster wow 3cm long! That is TINY! Musks don't really bask. You should have some type of basking area in their tank incase they do want to bask; however, in the year+ I have owned my musk, I have never once seen him out of the water.
@henham97 I don't feed crickets very often, just like once a week tops. Sometimes I put in guppies or rosies too. Mostly they get a mix of a few types of turtle pellets.
@earthling1984 have you ever heard of the rumor thats going around about turtle shack and turtle sale. there are people that say that they abuse their turtles and i was wondering if you new if it were true or not because i would really like to get another turtle for my female red ear slide.thankx
@FOB101ful I have heard the rumor, but I am skeptical to believe it. I really don't know one way or the other. But I do know I have ordered from them a couple times, and my turtles have lived over a year now since I got them, and they have been healthy since day one.
just with proper filtration and not over-feeding. Over-feeding is one of the main causes of dirty water in fish/turtle tanks. I feed plenty as you can see, but I am careful to not throw in to much that they can't finish it all.
hey can u please help me my turtle never basks and im worried about him cause he has white marks on his back n he is a baby what do i need in my setup i have plants big rocks a filter and the basking spot and lamp with the proper basking light is it because i dont have a backround please reply soon thanks
It has nothing to do with a background. you say you have a young turtle. What type of turtle? Usually if a turtle is having problems it is caused by bad water conditions.
he is a baby red eared slider turtle not sure how old and he is tiny and i have this turtle clean stuff that cleans the rocks and controls oders and it helps with the filter but i dont think that cleans the water i just got the aqua safe stuff today that takes the chemicals out of tap water is that y he is not basking because of the water has the chemicals in it reply soon thanks
@tekdek97 Did you just get him? if so then he's probably jut getting used to his new home it took 6 days for my turtle to start basking he loves it now
lol tell me about it but I am giving a couple to my little nephew since he likes my stinkpot musk so much and its worth it since I have been waiting for my delivery...lol
You get one yet? They are great turtles, staying very small(males especially - get a male!). Do remember they can live VERY long, this is no short term pet.

turtles eat crickets?
StrifeZer0 2 years ago
yea. Not all turtles. Some turtles are more herbavores and eat mostly greens, some are more carnivours and eat more meats.
earthling1984 2 years ago
Where did you get the texas map turtle? If you got it from a website please can you give me the link.
thanks - great video
