  • Good old days..miss so much

  • VERY, VERY well done sir!!

  • @KKG51 thanks

  • The Sammy Ambrose version is a much better version altogether in my opinion

  • Well done! I enjoyed this.

  • @JeffMcNeal Ty Jeff appreciate your comment

  • Okay...man - you did good damn good job on this song, I thought there was another version Gary Lewis had in the can stash away for decades ! Question, where did you recod the song and can you tell me what kind of mixing board you guys used to record and make the final mix down to two track stereo? By any chance did you use analog recording equipment?

  • @DesertRat048 well its a backing track of the music i just added vocals and recorded it right onto my laptop nothing fancy

  • Who sang this song instead of Gary Lewis?

  • @luitung well this version is my vocal cover and if you are asking me a trivia question then to the best of my knowledge Sammy Ambrose first put it on the charts before Gary Lewis.

  • @woodytfc acknowledgd

  • Why can't the original be posted here? Is there some kind of copyright issue? Though this version is not bad, very close to the original.

  • @DesertRat048 I dont know if there is a copyright issue with the original or not knowing youtube there probably is. I just posted my cover of it

  • I love that last scene!!

  • this sucks. its not them./

  • @peteboy1113 you are correct it is not them - I guess the word **Cover** in the title didnt jump out enough for you.

  • Outstanding cover AND production! *****

  • sammy was not ripped off he could not sing worth a lick.....check the copyrights...

  • That's cool.

You are welcome, glad you enjoyed the original by Sammy!

  • UHH! woodytfc, Your wrong. The Original Song was recorded by "SAMMY AMBROSE" on the Musicor Label in N.Y.C. in 1964.

I was there! Sammy was ripped off because of who Gary Lewis' father was, connections, money, & racism. Sammy's version was done the soulful way it should have been interpetated with real feeling. Check it out Baby!

    Sammy's Soul Sister,

  • Well I stand corrected thank you for pointing that out to me. I have changed my desription accordingly. Credit is due where it is deserved. I know nothing about the politics behind how artists were supressed back then, I know it happened, and it is a disgrace. I did listen Sammies version and loved it thanks again for pointing that out. Best Regards

  • pure gold

  • why dont you just post the original version - from liberty records 1964...

  • You're welcome always appreciate it when someone comments on one of my cover songs.

  • This song reminds me of going to my cousin's house as a kid and getting in her stack of albums and playing them. This was always the first one I went for. Love those good memories.....

  • buautiful song and great gretsch guitar tone i love so much.

  • Like that Farfisa organ sound, too. This was a great pop hit, and I really like this cover. Great job...

  • thanks westpoint but im just responsible for the vocals...and i was checking your channel out some really good stuff man the tele sounds great - i subscribed and i look forward to more of your stuff greetings

  • Actually, I should've said, "Great job on the vocals" because, yeah, I already knew it was the original music...but anyway, you blended them well with the original music.

Thanks for the compliment on my channel and my guitars, too. Yes, I love Telecasters! I believe that Gary Lewis himself had a Tele at one time. Great guitar. Thanks again for the reply to my comment!

  • actually its not the original music just a very good copy less the main vocals cheers

  • Nice karaoke track....

  • This is from my youth--so long ago!

  • What part of using the word "(cover)" in the title don't cover-artists understand? That said, the backing track is excellent, or is it a karaoke track?

  • I remember this song being done in a disco style by someone, and I cannot remember his name. This was around 1983-4. Sure would like to hear it sung that way again, and the same for the remix of the Supremes greatest hits in that disco style around the same time 83-84.

  • 1965....man, still got the 45 and love it just as much now as then. thanks Woody

  • this is a true classic is more than gold for me is a genuine piece of music history

  • yes it sure is - like i said --- some songs will last forever this is one of them. Glad you enjoyed my version.

  • Sounds great! Thanks.

  • no thank you for the comment it's appreciated

  • I was looking for the diamond ring picture, where did you get it? Goldia. com?

  • cant say for sure where the pic came from i dont pay that close attention.

  • You nailed this baby down! Fine job. Sounds just like it was from the era of the original. I love 60s music. 8-)

  • Thanks Diesel I appreciate the comment. This was the best time for music so many exceptional artists and tunes. Tunes that will still be here long after todays fluff is long forgotten.
