  • Took me a while to get into the album this song is off. This however was one track that hit me straight away. Now I love the album, especially "Sleeping with the Ghosts".

  • Let's buy an old car...we'll crash in a hut etc ....this song is almost the same that he did with 10cc years ago plus he sounds more like Graham Gouldman on here than Graham himself could.

  • @paisleygerry I agree that the instruments have a similar sound to them, but I think that the melody here is completely different. Plus there is a biting cynicism in this song whereas that old 10CC song is just full of the joy of life.

  • Hey Its spelled Erik not Eric.....

  • (Vive La Difference is great!) I like this song. It's got a lot of energy.

  • I liked the way he used the word soul in the song. In the old days, there seemed alot more emotional presence. My 14 yr old son said in "Im not in love" he liked it when they sang "it's because".... I think Eric's been hanging around McCartney too long & lost confidence & this song a bit bitter. However, I look forward to hearing his new cd vive le difference - the name gives us as 10cc fans Hope.

  • omg he dont arf sound like james from pokemon (he did voice him and brock)

he sounds lke brock when he talks tho

heard the commentry on a pokemondvd

  • When did this album come out?

  • About three years ago. Its available from Eric's website.

  • Not my favourite song on the album, that would have to be norman conquest. Still a good song though. Wasn't to keen on the album to begin with but it grew on me after a couple of plays.

  • @TWENTIETHCENTURYBABY Hi Jackie. Didin't know you were a 10CC fan too. I like this album.,although like you, it took a while to get used to. Did you get Eric's Viva La Difference album that came out after this one?

  • @Gordomusic1 No I didn't get Viva la difference, is it good?

  • @TWENTIETHCENTURYBABY Hi again. i definitely prefer it to Do Not Bend, although it has a song called Do Not Bend - just to confuse things...lol. Its got an absolute cracker on it called Down at the Palace. as long as ou aren't a monarchist :-) . Some other very good tracks. Its not as good as a classic 10CC album, but its still very good. I like it a lot. Check out the Gnomes demo on here and then do yourself a favour.

    Cheers from Gordo.

  • @Gordomusic1 I remember someone asking him why do not bend was called do not bend when there was no song on it called do not bend. He said well I might just put a song called do not bend on the next album. Will have to listen to that then.

  • @TWENTIETHCENTURYBABY Lol. Me too now you mention it.

  • The best song on the album.

  • When I heard Eric was working on this solo album, I was absolutely excited. Unfortunately, this album suffers from too much going on..and the "reggae" steel drum feel is all over every song on this CD. This could've been a strong CD, but turned out lackluster, at least in my opinion. Too bad, there wasn't anyone to tell him so. I feel DO NOT BEND is a wasted opportunity, even though it's not completely unlistenable. Hope he'll drop the "reggae" backbeat feel on his next album. I hate it!

  • I agree the steel drums ruin it,his next album will feature real drums apparently and heavier guitars, there were too many steel drums featured on his last album but he sings well on this track.

  • Love the intro, then the steel drums and mechanized percussion ruin the whole atmosphere. Interesting curio just the same, thanks.
