There was a big QB battle back in the summer of 2005 between Sam Keller and Rudy Carpenter. Keller was the incumbent but Carpenter played well down the stretch. Koetter origionally said Keller would start but like a day later switched and said Carpenter would start. This pissed off everybody, divided the team and fans, ASU sucked, Koetter got fired. Hope that helps
