If you look at the videos from 2006, to the new videos, you can see why it took Will Wright so long to create this game. It'll probably the most intelligent, and most artistic( not to mention fun) game to ever be released. Until Will releases an expansion, if he does.

i kinda would have to agree with gurdil19. posting a comment stating that making mars hospitable is impossible does not really support any argument against spore. it's made to be a game which you can go from a single cell to a galaxy leader, not a realistic sims game. And what if we could make an artificial EM field to work with Mars' somewhat weak one. That could work (i think)

terraforming is partially possible, at the moment its possible to seed clouds, but thats just in our own atmosphere.

it may be possible on mars but because the climate is different it probably wouldnt work there

Spore was tracking toward the cusp of our fiscal year which ends in March of 2008. For business purposes we weren't going to play the launch in this fiscal year and so nothing has changed since then. It's still around that time frame but for business purposes it's being planned for next fiscal year, which begins April 1st, 2008.

I think i'm gonna like space phase the most, then creater phase or civilization phase. It's so freaking cool that you can do whatever you want, drop some creatures on a planet, come back alter and see what happened to them. But if you capture like five creatures of 2 different intelligent species who are in civilization phase and then you drop them on a different planet, and give them each a continent without them knowing each others existence, what will happen then?

Um no. For the last 2 and a half years that it's been in development, they've said many times that it's not multiplayer. It's a massively SINGLE player game. Meaning other player's content is loaded to your system as filler, but you dont actually interact with other players. Computer AI controls other player content.
