I just bought a m50 88 key. For me this keyboard will serve me well for years to come. I'm 46, and have no music training, not even a lesson. With the m50 you can do all sorts of things believe korg when they say it's a workstation. A more appropriate name would have been workhorse because it' got it all.
Could you can make some tutorial how to use Realtime control B, and change effects of this 4 knobs? Is this possible to control volume of timbres by this knobs?
Bare in mind that there is no way to create a new sound in M50 M3 TR etc...you just tweak the built in samples so you can make your own sound..but it would be great to have such kind of a video!
Actually, there's quite a lot you can do with the sample ROM... After all, there are lots of single-cycle waveforms in addition to sampled instruments. Of course, our modeling synthesizers will have a truer "analog" sound, but you might be surprised what you can create in our workstations when you start from ground zero.
@dajnerise It could be one of several things. The channels could be muted in the mixer, the MIDI channels might need to be assigned, etc. Please see our video about creating combis for details.
@dajnerise It was a design choice to keep the organs sounding realistic, but yes, you can turn that back on if you insist. :)
Within the program you want, press PAGE SELECT, then touch "Osc/Pitch" on the display. Next, go to the "Osc1 Pitch" tab. At the top of the display, you'll see "JS+X" and "JS-X" parameters. They should both be set to 00. Set "JS+X" to +02, and set "JS-X" to -02 for standard whole-step pitch bending.
@dajnerise This means you're using a double-oscillator Program. Repeat the above procedure, but substitute the "Osc2 Pitch" tab in place of the "Osc1 Pitch" tab.
How to change the different sounds instantly during performance by one button? Thanks!

What are that 2 knobs on 4:08 under the MFX1 and MFX2 ,???
nahrat 1 year ago 5
@nahrat Those are the MFX returns. After routing tracks to the MFX, you can adjust the overall master effect level with these knobs.

These tutorials are really a good way to show what you can do with a m50.
At the moment I am seriously doubting whether I should buy a m50 or a yamaha MO 6/8. Please convince me that a m50 is more bang for the buck :P
Keep making those great videos:)

i had the same problem as you... i couldn't decide... i got the m50..... it's soooo much better than the mo6.... better sounds+better interface....
try do these things in an MO6 with that small sheety screen....it will take you weeks to learn how to split!!
don't think about mo6...go for the m50!!!

Hi there, is there any chance of doing a video demo'ing how to create a new sound from scratch?
The manual's a tad, er, vague, shall we say. :)
Thanks.
