How does this pedal work with effects before it in the chain? Specifically Fuzz, OD, and other high gain effects. Will it effect the LFO? Or can the Trem still be super choppy regardless of what's before it? (Like a good vox amp trem or something)
the complaint i hear about this pedal is that it has to be engaged to set the tap tempo... which is a bad idea. It can be modded easily... and I don't know they wouldn't make that mod standard. That and an internal volume trim would be golden.
This is the same type of effect used on the intro of Green Day Blvd. of Broken Dreams, most specifically, the settings you see at the end of this video where it sounds really choppy.
very great pedal. the only problem i had with the pedal is that the tap polarity is the opposite of how i want it. i just modded it to have a tap tempo out jack so i can plug in a tap tempo pedal and change the polarity on the pedal. works the way i want it to now.
Is anyone else confused by the ratio locations? It seems that when the demonstrator wants a 1:1 ratio, he points the dial all the way left; when he wants a 4:1, he goes all the way right; but when he wants 2:1 or 3:1 he points the dial to the numbers themselves, which is not where the knob is when it's all the way left or right.
Is it always going to be 1:1, 2:1, 3:1 or 4:1, so long as it's within those 4 zones, without gradation within the zones?
@BlisterOnTheMoon it's better cause of the tap tempo. imo you can't put a price on being able to adjust tempo on the fly. after all its a bitch trying to get it right live on the first try w/ your drummer. but if you're a studio musician or just want it to mess around with for yourself you should go for something cheaper.
have you ever tried to sync any kind of effect up with nothing but the nob? its kind of impossible, your timing is always slightly off. fucking frustrating man >:|
i think it sounds amazing. i listened to just about every tremolo demo on youtube and there's nothing out there that really separates itself from this. at least to the point where you could say that this isn't a good quality tremolo pedal.
hey how would this sound if you plug in another pedal with it like a heavy distortion? would it sound cool? or what about a fuzz? and which one better this or the electro harmonix wiggler?
That's no problem at all. How many times will you change a tremolo tempo in a song? I received mine and used it on the same day in a gig, on a song that tap tempo was crucial, and it was very good.

Exactly WHEN should i need this effect pedal lol? ;p i dont know if i like it...
joachimekstrom 5 months ago
@joachimekstrom I use tremolo in blues in southern / swamp rock. It's a great effect to use with long, upstroke chords or arpeggiated chords.

@androidophanium yes. its a simple lfo

Can you make this pedal as choppy and poppy as a Vox repeater/Earthquaker Hummingbird?

Is the wave form knob continuous? Or does it just select 3 settings?

You just have to keep the knob within the boundary for that ratio. It's a dual function knob so that's why it's not crucial to be exact.

What exactly is the benefit of tap tempo? Why not just find what you want with the rate/speed knob?
zepredator 2 years ago
@zepredator It's faster and easier to do live.

If you're playing live and want to match the tempo of your tremolo to the tremolo of the song, you'll need to tap it in.
esrevernidellepS 1 year ago
tempo* of the song. Excuse me.

This sounds like a great box for the money. But if you want a really bad ass trem, check out the Diamond.

Potentially nice if used with a synth or some other sound source, but it sounds less than extraordinary with the guitar...

The only thing that really bugs me on mine is that you can't set the time when it's bypassed, so live, you gotta step on it and get tapping quick!
