@Edgehead10075 They started around 1980 or so, "shows like "Different Storkes" "Gimme A Break", "Family Ties" and "Quincy" ran then, but it didn't get real popular until "The Cosby Show" came on in 1984, and other shows around Thursday night became popular. It lasted up until the 2000's, but I really think it went to down in 1993, after shows like "Cheers", and "A Different World" ended.
I don't give a shit what anyone says, "Friends" killed Thursday nights. Worst show! (IMO)
This may sound bad, but I've always felt that NBC's sitcoms were the most overrated on TV...except for maybe Seinfeld and the Cosby Show. I never saw an NBC promo I liked. Same goes for their news division.
Wow I was only 4-5 years old (depending on the time of year) when these were airing. To be honest not much has changed with NBC. They still do their promos in the same style, and they even use that "The More You Know" bit still except nowadays they use it for being green and Earth friendly. Even the voiceover guy sounds the same lol.
i thought in the house was on UPN. also Pursuit of Happiness??? that one must have been canceled fast. John Larroquette Show was on Saturdays at one point??? No wonder it didn't make it thru its 4th season. And lastly-- News Radio!!!! (oh i love you) where was Mad About You tho that was riding pretty high in '95 wasn't it?
Those were the days...NO REALITY SHOWS!!!!!!

Is it just me or is the "In the House" house similar to the "Two and a Half Men" house?

In the House was crap.
When did NBC start calling it "Must See TV"? Also, when did they stop calling it "Must See TV"? NBC is pretty much in the crapper these days.

I think that NBC is still kicking itself for cancelling JAG after one season. It moved to CBS and became extremely popular. NCIS is a spinoff of JAG.
Edgehead10075 1 year ago 4
@Edgehead10075 I did not know NCIS is a JAG spinoff

You're right. NBC had a lot of HORRIBLE sitcoms in the mid-nineties.
I remember how NBC was bragging hard about being on top in the nineties, and now they're in the toilet. Lol.

In the House was originally on NBC. NBC canned it, and it moved to UPN. UPN was a very black-friendly network.

1995-1996 was the final season in which NBC aired sitcoms on Saturday. It was the end of what was once a great era.
