The camera was probably the only reason you got it back. They wanted to steal it.. then sell it on ebay. Once they figured out they were on camera.. it was like.. "Oh shi% umm... we have your plane.... here is our number".

@hhmote Bah ,  thats so 2 years ago...... A 2.4Ghz Spectrum will get you 2 miles if you live in the boonies.... If your seraious about Long range FPV you need an UHF LRS rig. 10+ miles range.

Used cheap zagi props on a Brushless motor.... It stalls if something comes in contact with the blades. Might cut the skin under ideal circumstances but those weren't it..

On the ground is tough to FPV. To much interference for the antenna so the picture will have too much static. Its best to be high up in the air :-)... This was a receiver malfunction or poor construction that caused it to cut out less than 200m away...

I cut square hole in canopy with razor, secure with duct tape. since canopy is tilted down used the tape to pull the gum cam straight, otherwise youll just see nose... These Wild Hawks (aka Super Lightning) need modifications to fly right. There Rudder for 1, needs to be extended out another inch with a piece of foam meat tray packing! Cut to the length of rudder, Lay flat, and tape both sides and it will straighten out. Do this BEFORE you fly or you will crash.

The Plane is an Easy Star RTF ParkFlyer clone. They're foam and weigh about a pound. You can get em at HobbyPeople. I changed the receiver to work with a radio I had, unfortunately it was faulty as you can see in the video. It started glitching so I returned it for a Dual Convergence one.
