Im a cheerleader .. this isnt a sport ? I run 5 miles everyday at practice , we do 2 sets of 200 situps no breaks or we start over . im 90 pounds(no im not anerexic im just short) and i lift a girl thats 135 pounds . I go to the gym everyday for wieght training. I cant eat mcdonalds , burger king , wendys , hardeys ANY type of fast food. I have to think about everything i eat. My arms like i eject herione into my blood stream because of the bruises and cuts. CHEERLEADING IS A SPORT !
Cheerleading does suck!!! It is a sport and my bestfriend is a cheerleader but yes it does suck and shouldnt be a sport bc a sport is like basketball baseball softball football hunting and soccer js!!

I just want to say that some girls have died from cheerleading. I don't think it's possible to die from just moving your arms, so actually yeah, cheerleaders do DO more than that. Some schools, sure, all they do is move their arms, but some other schools, allstars and colleges do way more than that. I'm not trying to be rude, but you were. I'd absolutely love to see you do a standing full, or even a standing tuck. Cause I know you'd fail miserably. There is no reason to hate based on a sport.

For the tryouts there was this girl who was insanely flexible and athletic but she didnt make it just cause she wasn't very pretty.. =\ and she was the best on the whole team, even I made it and i suck!!!!

We run 4 miles a day, core, leg, and arm strength training, we throw people twice our size sometimes because they might be a better flyer, we can't eat everything we want, we go to the gym 5 out of 7 days a week, we can bring our legs above our heads without straining, and bring our leg right under our chins while in the air with 3 girls holding your ONE leg up without holding on to that leg, we do tumbling constantly we have bruises.

They, or rather we, as in, whoever the hell wants to back Cheerleading up because you insulted it with stupid stereotypes. A sport is a physical activity, rules, and obviously.. you need to compete. Half of what Cheerleading is is competitive. All-Star Cheerleaders Compete and man, are those Cheerleaders amazing and flexible. Cheer is like band and dance. It's not a sport but it is a sport at the same time.
Cheerleading now is no longer like the 50's. It's getting more stunt-y, as far as I noticed, or at least here in Hawaii, compared to the past. You need to be flexible and stuff like so. Also, dance and gymnastics is getting more inter-mixed as well. Look up "California All Stars Cheerleading 05-06" I would not call THAT moving around like a robot.
Some Cheerleaders don't care and join Cheer because it's something they are interested in and want to try /out for/. To bad if you don't give a shit. I'm going to fucking leave one. Delete any.

We run 4 miles a day, core, leg, and arm strength training, we throw people twice our size sometimes because they might be a better flyer, we can't eat everything we want, we go to the gym 5 out of 7 days a week, we can bring our legs above our heads without straining, and bring our leg right under our chins while in the air with 3 girls holding your ONE leg up without holding on to that leg, we do tumbling constantly we have bruises.

yeah, hate it. hate THEM. soooo annoying! GOD! whenever i go to a football game they freaking give me a migraine!! and when they go up into there stupid pyramid and think they are soooo cool, i imagine them as bowling pins. then i take them out and they are sprawled on the ground. not dead, but no longer shouting and smiling, THANK GOD. or when they do their stunts,i know they are hard, but they think they are so damn cool and are better than everyone! AND THE PREPPINES IS SO ...GAH! headache!

backhandsprings, fulls, standing full, tucks and im a flyer. iv played almost every sport and cheerleading takes the most dedication. i get some high school teams but not all so dont judge before you do

okay so go in the dictionary and look up the definition of a sport "any physical activity between two or more teams of competion" cheerleading defiantely falls into that catagory. then look up "the most dangerous sport" google it. watch research shows. even youtube it. cheerleading causes the MOST injuries out of anyother sport or physical activity. so get your damn facts straight before you judge cause it just makes you look like an ass....

daammnnnn.... Cheerleading is hard, and takes lots of practice. I'd like to see you do a stunt AND memorize a dance and hundreds of other cheers to preform infront of everyone. It takes muscle, trust me. CHEER IS A SPORT!!! YOU WORK YOUR BUTT OFF at every practice. I'm a cheerleader, and dude, you gotta watch what you're saying :-/

is this really what you do on your free time?sit round and think of reasons y u hate cheerleaders, im not gonna say because"you cant get one" cuz that sounds snobby....but i will say that cheerleading is cocidered a sport when you have tumbling and stunts into it, think about it dancin is a sport and we have that.gymnastics is a sport( tumbling, balance, flexibility) we got that too...i could careless if this is too much 4 u to read im just im letting cheer haters know this. and grow up!

Well. I can't agree with you that he's jealous because he can't get a Cheerleader, because we don't know his personal life. But, I do agree that for the most part, Ryan does not know what he's talking about. Dying doesn't make something count as a sport.. however, since Cheer is competitive, has rules, and is a physical activity, it is a sport.

They, or rather we, as in, whoever the hell wants to back Cheerleading up because you insulted it with stupid stereotypes. A sport is a physical activity, rules, and obviously.. you need to compete. Half of what Cheerleading is is competitive. All-Star Cheerleaders Compete and man, are those Cheerleaders amazing and flexible. Cheer is like band and dance. It's not a sport but it is a sport at the same time.

Cheerleading now is no longer like the 50's. It's getting more stunt-y, as far as I noticed, or at least here in Hawaii, compared to the past. You need to be flexible and stuff like so. Also, dance and gymnastics is getting more inter-mixed as well. Look up "California All Stars Cheerleading 05-06" I would not call THAT moving around like a robot.
