To anyone that is interested in Greg Rikkart I posted a few videos on here of his appearance in Kenosha, WI. He was there with John-Paul Lavosier and Bob Guiney from Bachelor season 4. Check em out. Real cool guy in person and very short.
Well, I forgot what year they started it but you got to a chance to hear the music and the credits role on tv at the end of every show. Now very network does a banner and the credits on so they can show promos of shows or other stuff.
The daytime generic credits started sometime in 1999. CBS it was as early as August, NBC was possibly not until 2000 since I have a DOOL episode from November 1999 with the full credits. Not sure about ABC but am sure it was sometime in 1999.
I read DOOL end credits started being blocked in November 2001. CBS started that practice in late July or early August 1999. Carmaker1 told me it was September 1999 when ABC started that practice.
Regarding AW's credits, they weren't really generic like other soaps since they still had the original theme music for the time and the announcers voiceover. All AW did was split the screen with scenes on the left and credits on the right with the NBC logo incorporated into the backgroud on the right.
Yeah that's true, I think that was AW's own style, and there were 2 versions of that ending first there was black background before the NBC logo was incorporated, but having blocked credits on almost every network is still annoying.
I miss the regular ending credits too, I'm so sick of the networks blocking the end credits until it's not even funny. Actually AW started that around 1994. NBC started the practice and then ABC picked it up and CBS then copied and as you know nearly all the cable networks copied, Blocked ending credits is stupid.
i agree..why are they advertising anyway, as you can see, with the exception of a few blockbuster shows like grey's..and dancing..and csi/miami, its not doing anything to the ratings..thanks to youtube for bringing the closing credits back:)
Amen! I used to watch the credits all the way through--they were like part of the show. Now it's down w/ elegance, up with commercials. Blah... sign of the times.
I have no idea. The end credits are seen on Soapnet, but however Y&R didn't join the network until last April and the credits from this video is from 2005.
This is the actual program. Countries which have networks that don't do squeeze credits get versions like this. Everything is remained intact. Some networks like Global get the our network feeds.
The end credits shown on Soapnet have never had the "join us again..." tag at the end except for when they did the Jump Into Genoa City marathon after Y&R first joined the lineup. I think a couple of those had the end tag.
The only episode you heard with that was the episode when Cassie died. I didn't hear that for any other episodes, but Marnie Saitta who was the female announcer left the show and Bern Bennett has retired.
The Canadian broadcast of Y&R have the cast member voiceovers that say Join Us Again for The Young & The Restless. Not sure why Soapnet gets a different credit crawl. If you notice right before the next on clip airs there is a second of dead silence where they cut the transition and added on the ending without the voiceover.
*checks the cast*
What? no Petrea Burchard?

Good piano. Yes, it does sound sad. But the mmusic itself is decent, almost calm.

This song is quite Possibly the most saddest outro to any tv show ever! Still good though :)

no more, "join us next time for the young and the restless" and "this program was pre-recorded".
sexymama1966 4 years ago
I remember seeing Another World doing that,I hate it.And I don't like that womans voice. They should just keep Bern Bennett's voice

Bern Bennett is in his 80s and retired. Presumably with his retirement they also retired his sound clip.

NBC started the single most asinine move in TV history:
They started the whole practice of the credit crunchers and generic split-screen credits for what? More money? More ads?
