That is because the N900 is rated as an internet tablet, like the rest of the NXXX, and therefore, sideways is the natural position of this device. And, why'd you want an annoying on-screen (portrait-mode) keyboard anyway when you have a much better hardware based one?

I had a Maemo device. Nokia 770. Nokia did not suporrt it. Gave everything to Nokia Maemo entusiasts. It is useless now, since beginnig. Yes it worked, if you make it to work. No updates...

N900 going to be the same dead maemo project?

@NikolaiAK well the n900 is getting software updates, and it has ovi store, ovi maps.... and the new qt, so it wont be a dead project, because when meego and the meego qt apps comes out, lots of them will work on the n900, and flash 10.1 will come to this phone.

Ok I have one question Ive watched all the videos of this phone on youtube and I dont get it everyone shows how it works sideways but can it work in upright position because after all I wana use it a phone too and does it have touch screen keyboard because I am used to my iphone alot ? ? ? ? ? ?
