When he wants to defend you you will not have a chance. You would need a screen to be freed from Kobe just like Wade does everytime he faces Kobe. @coopaing f it proves anything, is that Pippen took advantage of Kobe's youth, but when Kobe matured as a player, all bets were off, and the pendulum swung on a dime...this clip is about a bogus attempt I've ever seen to prove a point of view.....when Kobe matured physically and thru game experience, history will prove that Pippen could no longer defend this guy. That's why Pip tried to intimidate because it was only a matter of time before the gig was up

@79GUITAR the first time Kobe matched up against Pippen in playoff competition was during the lockout shortened season of 1999, when the Lakers beat the Rockets 3-1....Kobe was 19 years old....plus Pippen was a small forward, Kobe is a shooting guard, small forwards are primarily larger than shooting guards...I'm not taking anyting away from Pippen, I respect him, but when Kobe matured physically and basketball wise, Pippen couldn't check this guy

anyone hating on Pippen is an idiot and you don't know basketball. Pippen isn't only a top 50 player, he should be a top 20, possibly higher. The guy is a legend and the best small forward ever aside from Larry Legend. Pippen in his prime would dominate todays league as well. The guy was as important to the Bulls winning 6 rings as Jordan was. Before there was LeBron, there was Scottie, just as before Kobe, there was Michael. Now suck it

The dimensions of the game were the same, & more contact was allowed. Todays game is full of pre-madonna's. Today's game has great talent, but the game was played better back then. Players were smarter. And if you don't wanna compare teams from today to back then, fine. But you can still compare individual players.

I have heard about them possibly going after Marc Gasol or Nene in free agency. Who knows if they have any shot at either. Other than that, I think it's best if they stay with the roster they have, which is damn legit. They already added Jimmer, 2 other draft picks, and traded Casspi for JJ Hickson. Pretty good summer thus far.

If a Prime Kobe were to play a Prime Pippen without the defensive rule baggage they got these days...Pippen would make Kobe his bitch. Kobe is NOT use to being guarded intensely by a guy like Pippen. Kobe might not fear any player past/present accordingly! But aside from a Prime Michael Jordan, a Prime Scottie Pippen would've given him quivers! On accounts of overall skill levels, Scottie has far superior skills & defensively, well, let's not even go there, Pippen has to be on of the top, if not the best ever defensive player in the Small Forward position & definitely Top Ten in the overall standings! i remember those match ups. scottie was my fave. he had a real nice jump hook and a good backboard shot. a very underrated post game. he was pissed in houston when they played the lakers. he told the reporters "i can post these guys." he was talking about kobe. hakeem didn't have the advantage that series, scottie did but the rockets didn't exploit it and scottie wouldn't force it. not his nature.

@ThePartyGamer If you say that then you haven't watched kobe defending his entire career. He is one of the smartest defenders I know minus all the gambling he does late in his career. When he wants to defend you you will not have a chance. You would need a screen to be freed from Kobe just like Wade does everytime he faces Kobe. Think about it Wade about 5 years younger than Kobe needs a screen everytime he wants to blow by Kobe.
