I think it's fine that everyone has different opinions on their favorite OSTs. That's because we all have very special memories and moments playing these beautiful games and hearing the music and we remember the memories when we hear the song hence making the song our favorite. =)

@HipAlbatross11 Sony Vegas, photoshop, iTunes or any music ripper. Just search the songs on YouTube, rip them, put them together in sony vegas, take a FF background, write the title infront of it in photoshop, render as widescreen, profit.
@Raikard46 Have you listened to the Distant Worlds concerts? There's 3 of them, and the Dancing Mad and Dream Oath Opera songs they do are incredible, and for the first time ever the 3rd concert performed Clash on Big Bridge. I just wish they'd do FF6's Epilogue.

@CinderGamer Well, technically it's from Final Fantasy Origins, the PS1 remake of FF1 and FF2, but they're pretty much the same, besides the fact that GBA speakers suck, so they kinda changed it. :)
the ff6 jenova theme is just fucking mad good but, ive never liked any1 other game then ff7 ff8 ff9 ff10 just got way to good graphics today i play ff14 its booring its about something falcie story and the heros in it is booring,

Yes, FFIX has AWESOME songs. But... spinach rag, ALL the battle themes, jonny C bad, Devil's Lab, troops march on... there are too many great songs in FFVI.

I'm not denying VII's quality and originality, but I simply don't understand why people worship VII to the point that all the others go ignored. VII was good, but not the best. It simply had a story line that would have been lacking if it were spanning a single game. If other games had areas that were left unclear or stories left unfinished, then we'd see a bunch of spin - offs for them, too.
@YonKitoTaoshibe 7 was the first for a lot of us. Some of us got into the series because of it, while others tried and only liked 7. For example, 7 was my first and will likely always be my fave. Because of it, I've given the others a chance - I loved Tactics, enjoyed 4, recently played 6 for the first time and loved it, didn't mind the other PSX titles, and recently bought 3 for the DS. But I HATE FF10, 11, 12, 13, and their spinoffs. They're terrible. But...
@DynamiteRaver ...between the jump to 3D, the cast of fairly likeable characters, the amazing soundtrack, the "dynamic FMV movies," Limit Break system, an interesting Materia system, one of the first games to span more than one disc, and the abundance of additional features and mini games and explorable area, it's easy to see why it's one of the most favorited. Not to say games like 6 aren't amazing, because it's long overdue for a remake and graphical update, but that's pretty much how it is.
@YonKitoTaoshibe the spin offs are ruinin FF7... it was great for what it was... i think the reason people "worship" it as you put it, is because it was arguably the definite JRPG that bought a large amount of people to games like it... it paved the way for a lot of games similar to it to be successful outside of Japan. I mean especially for me as i'm from England and Europe got next to nothing JRPG style... or at least not easy to find :P
@Jonoridge You're right. VII took RPGs from 2D to 3D, which revolutionized the world of RPGs. It would have been better if they had written an all encompassing novel or something.Crisis Core was a bit of a downer, and Before Crisis suffered from a major lack of platforms. Advent Children wasn't bad though.
True VI Is Genius, But Nobuo's best composition in my opinion is You're not alone, But im proud of you standing up to the FFVII Worshipers. Good Video. Should check that song out, and just so you know, that comment wasnt to bash you, I respect everyones personal opinion.

So in the recent comments we have people who are 11 and 15 and like the old games, while I am 30 and don't personally care for 1-3 or 5 but like 4 and all of them (to varying degrees) from 6 on up, excluding a couple spin offs. Just goes to show you can't generalize and assume the young fans only like the new stuff and that the old fans only like the old stuff. You never know :D
The first list i have seen with clash on the big bridge, that song is beasty! esp. metal versions of it. Cloud of darkness battle theme should get a notice as well from FF III.

The most annoying thing to me is you have this AMAZING series of games. Ive beaten 4,6,7,8,9,10 They are all Epic and Amazing in their own ways. Yet, people argue which is the best bashing the others. My opinion 6,7, and 9 stick out the most to me but id gladly go back and play any of the others. The point is this is by far the best series to ever be released. Except 11 which is online. The best soundtracks are in 1-10 in my opinion. One winged angel should of been on here just not number one.

Everyone is illegally downloading songs, a lot of people even know how to download old games... the only problem even if I hate pirates is that even if the games can be found easily, people do not care about old games generally.
I was born in the nes 6 bit era before 3d graphics existed and every character was tiny,
I loved that era and remember it greatly,but those days are over,people who grew up with those games are all grown up and have children.
And as you said,graphics seems to take lead over interesting characters.
It started with ff7 which wasn't a bad game at all,it was a decent game well worth buying,then ff8 where the gameplay went downhill and FFXII and FFXIII rock bottom.

so ya most people DO go for graphics but me, i go for the story, gameplay, and creativity. and most of all Ex...um, damn...well how the put it together and make it work.
Some of these pieces are on my top favorite like:calm before the storm and vamo alla flamenco and village of the black mages and melody of the lute from ff4 and zeromus boss theme.

unfortunately as the graphics increase, storylines and gameplay decrease. sure the games look alot better. but nowadays its like they arnt even trying. the final fantasys with the best storyline and stuff were back when they put every effort they could into their games. hence everything after 10 has just kind of gone downhill, because they arnt trying anymore. i personally didnt like VII as much as VI or VIII but it was an ok game, its just most of the good stories were lost in 3d. shame really

Look i like all FFs to a certain extent, i put alot of hours into all of them, i rate 4 even though it's 2D as the story and music are great, i justhate people who bash 8 and 10 PLAY THEM AGAIN i guarantee you if you get past your stubborness and over inflated ego you will love them, 7-10 are the best, just play them, no need for any fancy reasons, just play them and get 60hours+ enjoyment out of masterpieces.
some of legitemately dislike 7 and 8. I was worried my opinion was a result of the two things you described so i did go back and play them. FF7 still bores me at the best of time and outright offends me at the worst. FF8 well it just wasnt for me. some of the characters are cool, all ofthesummons are cool, but i just couldnt get into it.
I played 8 for the first time when it came out for PSN, finished in a month, hardly did the side quest or triple triad becsause the story was so amazing and the music, found the junction system very addictive to increase you stats and get stronger. I lovd FF7 but as i recall the last time i tried to re play it, i just thought 'i've already played it, this is boring i wanna play fifa10 or COD4' so i think i'll play it every few years when i forget the story.
Your list was good until you place mezzo and dancing mad over a number of songs including,

It could have been good sure if they completed it,but ff7 is incomplete and people are pretty much blinded by the pretty cutscenes and fight scenes.
The game is missing a lot and even many agree with me that its inccomplete,and for this reason it cannot be neither best game ever or best ff.
The characters lacked that little spark you find in ff6 and ff4,this spark is character and charisma,the major thing that all the ff7 characters cept maybe cid lack.

So in the recent comments we have people who are 11 and 15 and like the old games, while I am 30 and don't personally care for 1-3 or 5 but like 4 and all of them (to varying degrees) from 6 on up, excluding a couple spin offs. Just goes to show you can't generalize and assume the young fans only like the new stuff and that the old fans only like the old stuff. You never know :D

The first list i have seen with clash on the big bridge, that song is beasty! esp. metal versions of it. Cloud of darkness battle theme should get a notice as well from FF III.

The most annoying thing to me is you have this AMAZING series of games. Ive beaten 4,6,7,8,9,10 They are all Epic and Amazing in their own ways. Yet, people argue which is the best bashing the others. My opinion 6,7, and 9 stick out the most to me but id gladly go back and play any of the others. The point is this is by far the best series to ever be released. Except 11 which is online. The best soundtracks are in 1-10 in my opinion. One winged angel should of been on here just not number one.

@NeoSephirothOmega Yes but the fact is that todays players do not care about discovering the origins of the saga. They only juge games by their graphics and do not car to do videogames speleology :)
Everyone is illegally downloading songs, a lot of people even know how to download old games... the only problem even if I hate pirates is that even if the games can be found easily, people do not care about old games generally.

I was born in the nes 6 bit era before 3d graphics existed and every character was tiny,
I loved that era and remember it greatly,but those days are over,people who grew up with those games are all grown up and have children.
And as you said,graphics seems to take lead over interesting characters.
It started with ff7 which wasn't a bad game at all,it was a decent game well worth buying,then ff8 where the gameplay went downhill and FFXII and FFXIII rock bottom.

@Aksvarn hey look i know were you are coming from but i am only JUST 17 and i never had the genesis super nes etc but still loved the PS1 games sometimes more than the PSP, PS3+X-Box 360 (which i don't have, use friends)
so ya most people DO go for graphics but me, i go for the story, gameplay, and creativity. and most of all Ex...um, damn...well how the put it together and make it work.

Some of these pieces are on my top favorite like:calm before the storm and vamo alla flamenco and village of the black mages and melody of the lute from ff4 and zeromus boss theme.

And you do have ff4 remake which is decent,but i think some of the songs are butchered and i didn't care for the pink and purple outfit.
There was something special about the original ff4 artwork with its colors.

unfortunately as the graphics increase, storylines and gameplay decrease. sure the games look alot better. but nowadays its like they arnt even trying. the final fantasys with the best storyline and stuff were back when they put every effort they could into their games. hence everything after 10 has just kind of gone downhill, because they arnt trying anymore. i personally didnt like VII as much as VI or VIII but it was an ok game, its just most of the good stories were lost in 3d. shame really

Look i like all FFs to a certain extent, i put alot of hours into all of them, i rate 4 even though it's 2D as the story and music are great, i justhate people who bash 8 and 10 PLAY THEM AGAIN i guarantee you if you get past your stubborness and over inflated ego you will love them, 7-10 are the best, just play them, no need for any fancy reasons, just play them and get 60hours+ enjoyment out of masterpieces.

some of legitemately dislike 7 and 8. I was worried my opinion was a result of the two things you described so i did go back and play them. FF7 still bores me at the best of time and outright offends me at the worst. FF8 well it just wasnt for me. some of the characters are cool, all ofthesummons are cool, but i just couldnt get into it.

I played 8 for the first time when it came out for PSN, finished in a month, hardly did the side quest or triple triad becsause the story was so amazing and the music, found the junction system very addictive to increase you stats and get stronger. I lovd FF7 but as i recall the last time i tried to re play it, i just thought 'i've already played it, this is boring i wanna play fifa10 or COD4' so i think i'll play it every few years when i forget the story.

Nice list until top2 go and listen to The Castle its the best FF song by some distance, prolouge and rebel army theme orchastrated would be my 2 and 3 also as i mentioned run and enemy attck as 4 and 5

It could have been good sure if they completed it,but ff7 is incomplete and people are pretty much blinded by the pretty cutscenes and fight scenes.
The game is missing a lot and even many agree with me that its inccomplete,and for this reason it cannot be neither best game ever or best ff.
The characters lacked that little spark you find in ff6 and ff4,this spark is character and charisma,the major thing that all the ff7 characters cept maybe cid lack.

The problem is,people usually don't back up any proof to back up their statements.
I am a little annoyed when people do it with ff6 as its the same shit ff7 fanboys do,but i am more annoyed when ff7 fanboys do it because they are far more extreme.
The whole point in games also is to enjoy them and not fight over them.
I think it would be best if all the fans sat down and played each one,after that make their opinion.

2 - Pffft the series started sucking major balls with X onwards (Xs the best in the series... reasons? Best emotion, story, music, great gameplay simple enough really although its very close between 7,8,9,10 as they're the best.)
