Um, Kinda nooby question to ask - I've been looking around and im not that good with redstone mechanisms but how does one turn it on? =p do i replace the unlit torches with lit ones? or do i delete a block to make it work? A friend suggested getting rid of one of the dirt blocks and thats it, but don't want to ruin it.

I've seen better lighthouses, even one that toggles on and off depending on how bright it is. It has a light sensor. Made my head explode.

I wish there was some way in Minecraft to direct light in one direction, like a spotlight. Or, if you prefer, a lighthouse. Who thinks that notch should add a magnifying block that would look a bit like glass, but when you looked through it it would make everything bigger? It could be used to craft small telescopes, and built with to make big telescopes. It could be placed next to a light source to make the light shine stronger and in one direction. I think that this would be really really cool.
