Uhm, is this game completely different from RTW? Because every time my cavalry go anywhere near his pikemen they're cut to shreds. Those Gondor horsemen ate right through them!

It has a campaign. Just like other total war games you control the factions

There are several unique hero units (Aragorn, Gimli, Boromir, Sauron, etc).

Also there are several events that are similar to the story (ie Aragorn summoning the Undead army if you get to Dunharrow, Sauron being invincible unless you destroy the One Ring/Frodo gets to Mt Doom, etc)

i would say the elves are the best faction in this mod..... except for their expensive training and take forever to create an army big enough to fend off the dwarves if they attack you. but then again you only get to plays with aragorn and legolas and such with gondor and rohan and the free peoples of middle earth so it balances itself out. awesome mod ^_^ and nice video 5 starred and subbed

they did at Minas Tirith right before the Calvary charge

they weren't even orcs... they were Uruk Hai, you can tell because of the armour and the banners they carried... (white hand)

and uruks become a phalanx because of the march before helms deep, the masses of uruks were not in phalanx but were in the marching positions ready to form one

The modders just shoulda used the "dying" sounds from wardogs on those wargs. Um, what is wrong with you? I know rangers may have good melee attack, but leaving them to face berserkers alone? Shoulda flanked and rushed the swordsmen in... And you probably messed with the cavalry's stats too... No way horsemen shoulda been able to beat a phalanx from the front... Otherwise, a decent showcase of a battle in LotR Total War. 3/5

Install patches 1.3 and 1.5 for Rome Total War

Install patch 1.6 for Barbarian invasion.
