Yes, they are both Desmond's ancestors. I think the similarity in the face including the scar is to make us feel that Altair and Ezio are both Desmond's ancestors.

@vijayearth ... exactly! what confuses me is how Ezio got Altairs armor back ..since is was destroyed at his Uncles Mansion in ACB annnnd the way Ezio sees Altair was the way Desmond found the Sanctuary ...using Ezios Ghost .. what if Altair shows Ezio all the answers WE the fans have all been waiting for?!? what do you guys think?

Exactly.. What if Altair's soul shows Ezio all the answers and through animus, Desmond relives Ezio and learns it all?? That would be awesome. What if Altair also conveys a message to Desmond through Ezio (just like how Minerva did).. Whoa.. Im all excited..

I got it buddy, what I meant was that only Desmond knows about Altair. It is only Desmond who knows about both Altair and Ezio. Also, Ezio has heard about Desmond from Minerva but Ezio does not know about Altair or the fact that Altair is his ancestor.. In the video, Ezio seems to recognise Altair and is taken aback on seeing him.. So, I am a bit confused..

Hmm.. I doubt it, dude.. The trailer seems to make it clear that Ezio sees Altair. In fact, Ezio stops fighting for a second as he is shocked to see Altair. I think, for some reason, Ezio is trying to trace Altair's steps. He is trying to unfold something which Altair had discovered, for which Ezio has to trace Altair's steps and go to places where Altair went in the past.

I dont know.. Maybe I am trying to be creative. We'll just wait and see.
