Shaggy had nuff street credibility, but to make money you have to CROSS OVER, so he took dancehall and creatively meshed it with different genres of music. If you really listen to the influences you would see that the songs he samples come from country, pop, latin, etc...and he always has true hardcore singles mashing down at home because he know his roots.
