  • Is this the devil?

  • @187967 It's supposed to be. In the story that goes along with the songs, Mehisopheles wanted to take Beethoveen's last symphony by saying he would trade Beetoven's soul (which he apparently possesses) for it. Beethoven knew what his music might do for the world and when he refused, Mephisotoples retaliates by threatening to tortue a random homeless little girl for the rest of her life. This song is all those threats.

  • is it normal for someone who sings of obviously "corrupt" concepts to sound entirely irresistable?

  • I love it when Jon is playing "evil"! :D

  • "DO YOU UNDERSTAND!" Omg i love this song, when he does "hahaha" Its great. very smooth song ._.

  • @elementalescape yea he does sound a lot like dave mustaines crazy ass

  • kinda scary

  • Exorcist anyone? lol

  • @drummerguy1989 Lol. Yes, someone call Linda Blair!

  • The joker should sing this

  • Reminds me of the Joker :D

  • His voice is exactly like savatage in "I am" album dead winter dead

  • Jack Skellington, stop being so mean to kids! D:

  • The guy singing sort of reminds me of Dave Mustaine....(Megadeth)

  • this isnt about rape its about the devil going in her and cause her the most serious pain ever because beethoven wont give up on his Tenth Symphony

  • The singer is Mephistopheles/Satan bargaining with Beethoven for his final symphony. Basically he's saying if he doesn't give him the music, he will make this little girl's life on his porch a living hell. Beethoven begrudgingly accepts.

  • .... never watch this then hypno's lullaby then some creepy pasta..... you will b too scared to even pee...

  • He seems like a good babysitter

  • The guy needs anger management and maybe a couple years in an asylum. Could be Santa's evil twin...

  • I love the laugh he does

  • Love this song.

  • Creepy much. Although I like the image of the joker, it really does fit that sort of personality

  • This makes me think of my dad. O.o

  • Holy Crap! Is that Cicero from Skyrim!? o.O

  • I get the image of the old cartoon joker every time I listen to this

  • I bet Joker's dad sang him this as a kid.

  • Comment removed

  • For sum reason I got the image of Jack Torrance from The Shining singing this XD

  • @dumbblonde1299 same here

  • Danny Elfman? Is that you?

  • 3 people didnt understand

  • Next Tim Burton movie, he needs to hook up with this band.

  • @EternalDarkness316 Tim Burton + Trans-Siberian Orchestra=more EPIC than the fucking Illiad.

  • This could definitely be Ordeith's theme if The Wheel of Time is ever made into a game.

  • Quite interesting...yet so awesome!

  • Tim Burton needs to make a movie with TSO doing the soundtrack and Jon Oliva on vocals

  • I got a sudden image of Jack Skellington singing this.....

  • this song sounds like awsomeness

  • one of the best <3!

  • Anyone else think the singer sounds like the Joker? XD

  • @datenshikaori Or Mayuri from Bleach...

  • Rape: The Musical?

  • @ElmoFFmail just what i was thinking! :p lol

  • Anyone else think this sounds like Danny Elfman aka Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas????

  • @nibblesfan I've made that comparison before, too! XD When I first stumbled across TSO (specifically, this album), I was also in a huge Phantom of the Opera and Nightmare Before Christmas phase, and to me, his voice sounded like a cross between Jack Skellington and some of the snarlier bits of Gerard Butler's singing. Basically, I was head-over-heels for his voice in about half a second. XD

  • @myoneandonly89 GASP!!!!!!!!!! YOU MUST BE MY LONG LOST TWIN!!!!!!!!!!!! I am totally obsessed with Phantom of the Opera and that's exactly what I thought!!!!!!!! And yes I know exactly how you feel about his voice!!!!!!! XD (we even use the same smiley!!! XD)

  • who sings this?? the guy drinking???

  • @animalbaran its jeff scott soto

  • @animalbaran Actually this is Jon Oliva. On the recent tour of BLN Mephistopheles was played by Jeff Scott Soto. But this version is Jon Oliva!

  • @weers94 Jon Oliva the Mountain King

  • this kind of reminds me of Freddy Krueger. it's what i think his theme song would be (other then the nursery rhyme).

  • This is my theme song.... I'm not even joking. A friend of mine created a character based off of me to put in her story after we listened to this song... This IS my theme song. 8)

  • This is my favorite!

  • this make me think of a skinny guy in a suit and top hat

  • @227titan Same for me but fat

  • This loaded amazing fast for my computer.... that's scary..... Someone wants me to hear this!!!

  • makes me smile every time i hear this song

  • @Torkenxoll That's scary in a way...

  • @Torkenxoll XD good, it's not just me grinning every time this creepy song pops up in my iTunes then.

  • @Torkenxoll Ironically me too!

  • i don't like this song at all!!!!!!!

  • O.O creepy but great. I adore this song. Lol. But I prefer "The Dark" and "Night Castle". Still, 'tis a great song. TSO forever! <3

  • this is awesome! listened to this song and now im addicted to TSO :D

  • I have listened to this song for several hours. And i'm still not tired of it. Awesome song.

  • This song scares the crap out of me :)

    I love it!!!

  • I keep cackling evilly when I listen to this.

  • upload vienna!

  • I am in love with Jon Oliva's voice. He has the ability to sound heart-achingly sweet, chillingly guttural, and, as clearly demonstrated here, delightfully maniacal.

  • @myoneandonly89 So many contradictions....Over-ride system format...Shutting down system x.x

  • It's sort of a twisted form of beautiful, this song. You can feel the emotions: all the rage and malice and pain. This song is evil yet in a good way...if that makes sense. All I really know is that I've been pressing replay for the past hour! And I still can't get enough! ^.^

  • they should rename this "Rape, The Musical"

  • Comment removed

  • if this guy has kids i bet they r traumatized. i wonder if he sings this to them before bed. poor children lol

  • @GlorifyTheRisenSon XD That's a funny thought, if you haven't heard anything else by this singer. His name is Jon Oliva and he's got a pretty incredible range of singing! Try listening to "Believe" by Savatage, his voice is incredibly sweet in that song.

That growl, though! Hee! Manages to make the hair on my neck stand on end.

  • ZOMG I so totally see the Joker in this... It is kind of scary... imagine Heath Ledger's Joker singing this oooo LIKE

  • @InsanityCap not THIS Joker lol

  • can u put in the lyrics?

  • might be good music for an apocalyps

  • His voice in this song reminds me of King Diamond's voice.

  • Funny thing is i met Jon Oliva in a bar after a show and despite him selling the evil voice so well, he's the friendliest goof ball you could ever meet.

  • @rottfeast

That's why Jon is loved so much!!

  • it needs a music video!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAH ;_;

  • evil ;_;

  • 3 people were just horribly mutilated by the narrator.

  • You know, I feel like I want to help the girl in the song more and more each time I listen to it, to the point where I'm absolutely fed up with the narrator. I want to strangle him or somthing. That's how you can tell if it's a good song, and this one definately passed.

  • strange reason i can see the Joker to dance to this

  • This song decribes what i did to you mom last night.

  • great song ...but carol of the bells tops ALL christmas songs

  • @BMX1061 This isnt a Christmas song...

  • @BMX1061 Seriously. TSO does more than just the Christmas songs. Think alittle bit, hm?

  • i love how this is so dark

  • 3 people dun understand D=

  • They guy who wrote the play would sooo love this

  • 3 people sleep in the gutter

  • the sigh after 2:10 is perfect. even got chills

  • a GREAT HALLOWEEN song!

  • this song is just EXTREMELY creepy... it's good but VERY CREEPY.... *shudders*

  • please please please post more of their Christmas stuff.....

  • Creepy...

  • such a dark, morbid song but still great just like the entire album my favorite TSO album so far yeah the christmas music is good too but nothing compares to a beethoven concept album

  • this is but a very nice moral :)

  • this song makes me think of a charecter of my friend's

  • oh my god tso or metallica

  • To tell you the Truth I think it Reminds me of JACK THE RIPPER it sounds like something he would do, cause he killed prostitutes mainly females! ANYONE ELSE AGREE?

  • hate it when the music is louder then the lyrics. can barely understand what hes saying

  • @blizrfiz I think it's just your setup. I have this song on cd and mp3, and of course this one, and I never have trouble understanding him. I think they are perfectly balanced and compliment one another. Check your system and it's setup, you might have something wrong on your end if you are having trouble hearing the lyrics.

  • This song is so amazing! I mean, its depressing. But kinda puts you in a *mwahahaha im evil* kind of mood xD

  • From 1:10 onwards I can imagine the girl twisting around as Beethoven watches horrified.. I wonder if that makes me a bad person.

  • @ridingisasport All it means, is that you have an understanding of that would look like.

  • @ridingisasport sorta lol jk nah we are all a little twisted

  • Is there a backround with this song? Is it from something? It seems like it would be. Does anyone know?

  • @ecarmosino It's from Beethove's Last Night album, intended as an opera/musical.

  • Woah this reminds me of the Joker. But it's still an awesome song!

  • I saw them last night, they are absolutely amazing.

  • Great ... the intensity in this song is great and the way the piano just sort of rises and falls like nothing he ever does will change is just brilliant the lyrics is so sadist its almost the worst ( which means best in this situation) of shoden fruede

  • My second fave rock opera next to The Black Parade by MCR :))

  • Wth?

  • @AndrewDeLong

Exactly! It sounds like he's talking about Harleen Quinzell as well. Metaphorically or literally either way it could be about the poor blonde psychiatrist.

  • I know this is a bit off topic....but....

Just listen to this song and tell me you don't think of the Joker from "Batman: The Animated Series" from the mid 90's.

I mean seriously...everything from the sadistic voice, to the evil intent SCREAMS of that version of the Joker (the one voiced by Mark Hamil).

  • @AndrewDeLong

That's what I thought of when I first heard it!

  • @AndrewDeLong Yeah , I was just thinking that o.0

  • @AndrewDeLong It kind of does.

  • @AndrewDeLong lol or dave from megadeth

  • @AndrewDeLong i totally agree. Soo creepy. But soo good!

  • @AndrewDeLong lol it does sound like the joker.

  • @MrMellon21 Actually it's Jon Oliva, founder of the TSO

  • @Martintheauthor I know just saying that it sorta sounds like him if he was creepier

  • @AndrewDeLong yeah me too. the entire time i was imagining joker talking to batman like that its awseome

  • @AndrewDeLong it toatly does

  • @AndrewDeLong thats not wierd but i did think of the joker

  • @AndrewDeLong i think more of saw

  • @AndrewDeLong agreed

  • @AndrewDeLong yep. this guy sounds like the joker alright.

  • @AndrewDeLong HE SOUNDS A LITTLE MORE LIKE THE OLD ROBBER GUY FROM OLIVER TWIST... WHAT HIS NAME? THE OLD MAN. sorry caps.

  • @JJ2985 U Know Ur Shyt!

  • great!

  • mephistopheles, which is who the singer of this song is acting as, is often portrayed as the devil in films and songs. what mephistopheles really is a demon. unlike most demons who try to corrupt every human they come across mephistopheles only talked to certain humans. humans who were said to already be damned or on their way to damnation.

  • the story is of mephistopheles trying to get the 10th symphony, by trading the 10th symphony beethoven can save the girls life. beethoven has already declined 2 other deals. one was to give up all of his songs in exchange for his soul the 2nd was the 10th symphony for his soul. i dont think it was said if beethoven said yes or no, he was prepared to decline but he cant forget the child.

  • so he make the contract under the name of his brother(first born son) who died in his first year of life, beethovens (second born son) parents gave him the same name so mephistopheles doesnt get the symphony.

just to finish the story ;)

  • Does anyone but me know the story behind this song? It's actually a really sad song, despite the sadistic tone.

From what I understand, it was referring to a story of a little homeless girl who was cold and hungry. The line "She is not your child, she's always another's" and the laughter was the people that passed her by and didn't help. It's quite sad when you think of how often people do things like that, thoguh I have heard another story behind this.

  • @SasorisPuppet thats right. the devil informes beethovhan that the devil owns this girls soul. now in exchange for the 10th symphony, he will let this childs soul go. let her live a happy long life. the album is beethovhan's last night. a masterpiece of a rock opera.

  • the laughter wasnt from people passing her by that didnt help, though people did do that if they could see her which im not sure they could. she was mephistopheles slave i suppose. he had her soul and was planning on torturing her if beethoven didnt give him the 10th symphony

  • This song is creepy. i like it! >=D

  • The pure sadism in the singer's voice gives me chills every time I hear this song. Thanks so much for uploading it!

  • Have I been clear...???
