@cojoification Betty Carter recorded it in August 1962 . Not sure when Tont Bennett recorded his version but he released a single of it early in 1963 - it wasnt a big hit - # 18 in the USA. Betty Carter`s version was eventually released in 1963 on her album Round Midnight.

Thanks for the correction. Correct credit must be given where credit is due. I was right about the film though. The song was written expressly for the French film "The Seven Deadly Sins", which is where I first heard and loved it back in 1962.

It doesn't really matter who wrote what on this song. The music and lyrics are so good that just about anyone who either plays or sings is going to sound beautiful. The only other tune that I can think of that approaches this kid of quality is "Three 'O Clock in the Morning"--Frank Sinatra had the best version but, like this one, is wonderful for whoever does it.

This song is absolutely gorgeous. The instrumentation is so pretty and her voice is just awesome. Whenever I see the BA commercial, all that I can do is smile. This song takes you to the stars on a clear night. I wish that more music was produced like this today.
