Insightful how Fr. Simon cites reasons why we habitually commit the sin of idolatry so often. He notes that several papal encyclicals state that Catholics have a duty to study the Bible. He states that prayer is not our talking to God (He already knows what problems we have and our needs & wants), but that prayer is listening to God. I liked how Fr. Simon said, that in essence, Jesus tells us to: "Sit down, shut up and listen!" Hippies will like the catchy moldy oldie tune at the end.
A fabulous commentary on the necessity of Scripture study & the contemplative life to which we are all called - religious & lay persons alike.
