That ancient Abbey looks remarkably like Battle Abbey, Senlac Hill, about where King Harold met his maker thanks to the Normans in 1066. I've ridden Battle Abbey grounds many times in the past and it was always good for a arm aching gallop. Can you let me know if the location is correct.
@EricJeans - so did we! those were the days...(literally 6years ago. yeah, well i thought they were the days)
one line has always stuck in my head 'dreams come true if you want them to, if you want them to then its up to you'. kinda encouraging, dont you think?
I am watching the Follyfoot boxed set right now. (Christmas 2009). Reminds me of growing up in the country. Thanks for posting a full length version of this great song.
Im going down memory lane viewing 'the lightning tree' and 'the singing ringing tree' - totally different programmes but same era - great old times and never to be forgotten
Seems the majority of comments here would rather the then not now.For my part the then was a carefree innocent and exciting time with untold optimism toward the future then greed, governments, politicians, the powers that be or whoever they are forced themselves into my life and stole that optimism away.Don't think their going to give it back either.Watching these videos are priceless but make me sad and miss a time that will unfortunately never return.
As a child I loved this tune and the TV Series. I have never forgotten this song, thanks for uploading! Greetings from Holland where the series was also on TV.
Oh yeah...this song remembers me in my childhood, too.. the best time I´ve ever had.. Feeling free, riding horses.. no problems at all.. what a great time..
The Lightning Tree Written by Steven Francis Performed by the Settlers Down in the meadow where the wind blows free, In the middle of a field stands a lightning tree. It's limbs all torn from the day it was born For the tree was born in a thunderstorm. Grow, grow, the lightning tree, It's never too late for you and me; Grow, grow, the lightning tree, Never give in too easily.
What's the Year?

I'm afraid that I will always link this song to being in the car travelling to the dentist to have two teeth out around 1973 when I was a kid.
