I will NEVER understand the cruelty of human beings against nature. I own 2 macaws and seeing this makes me sick to my stomach. God bless you for fighting for Aria's life.
It is wonderful to see how Aria is progressing. Were any actions taken against the previous owners? Aria's condition was not only neglect or ignorance, but criminal. Thank you so much for the wonderful, caring, loving work you do. Thank you for sharing, tears and all.
God bless you for what you do for birds. I'm so glad there are people who understand birds and help them like this. I have two cockatiels who I let fly free in the house. I know they are born to be wild, so I try to imitate that life as much as possible.
wow..ihad to fast forward some of that..so sad, but im glad you got him. i recently inhereted a double yellow amazon, and if people actually knew how much care they need they wouldnt get them. however my bird is training me well and he has really become one of the family. do you ever give your birds table food?
i hope i never see that again. You know alot of people just get birds to show off and that is sad. I know someone who doen't treat there birds right. I love what your doing. I have 2 cockatiels and it is not always easy to what others and there birds.
You are an Angel,Care and constant attention is needed and most of all love. When you give them love a lot can be accomplised
I have an African Grey and l give him all the love and attention and he has give me back lots..It doesn't mean that animals cannot talk that the cannot understand...
God bless you with the good work that you are doing..
God holds a special place for people like you. I cannot stop the tears, Aria looks very happy, and healthy. My prayers are with you and everything you do. I have subscribed, and hope all the videos to come are good news...God Bless xxoo
I am still crying! I am so glad Aria is doing better! And to see him so easily accept your affection, just breaks my heart even more! How can he trust a human after what has been done to him??? Yet he does! Such courage, such hope in the future is more than we often have ourselves... We have a lot to learn from those wonderful creatures! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your (alas!) necessary work!
oh no, how can someone let that happen to such an angel? I wish I could knock the hell out of whoever let that happen. sorry if i have typos but it's hard to type right now, i'm crying and can barly see the keyboard. is he ok now? been adpoted by a good person who loves him.
i concur....she or he will be a year in a month exactly since today is the 18th...he or she was hatched june 18th so "chuck" talks a lot its really funny....they liked scracthes a lot to when it comes from me...no one else
Volunteers are so hard to come by! We don't have a problem adopting out a few a yeay... BUT the high maintanance birds have hard time makeing friends. Aria and Yoko are gettimg close to friendship and adoption. if your interested pease send a E-MESSAGE
i would.....think but the problem is im 15 and i already have a quaker...and this bird is very territorial...it really pretty much bites everyone that comes near his cage but me...and when im not with him he screaches...annoying but great
Posted a video response. I hope you accept. Its a video relating to Fish Rescues. There is much of the same negligence in aquaria that you find in your bird friends as well. From dumping fish into water ways that can destroy them to inadequate husbandry just asking for diseases to inflict them. Cheers!
Yes I did accept your video response. All life deserves respect. Especially if you have chosen to take and keep one as a pet. You owe it to your pet to do all you could do to protect them from harm and give them all the stimulation for a healthy happy life. Yes even for a fish pet.
Unfortunately she got away as if she never commited a crime. No one could obtain her name. She almost left to just set the birds loose outside. We all know what that would result. I just dont get it. I am very specially kind to these birds. I just couldn't imagine getting upset with anything they do. I need ear mufflers sometimes though. LOL
What do you give to bird as food when they are not using their beaks? Broken beaks are common here. And we wanna found a solution that can be given as food for these type of diseases...
Soft foods like scrambled eggs, vegetables put through the processor, even baby food in a jar, also Harrison's organic cruymbles thats very high p[potency, sweet potatoes, cooked rice, bananas, if eating becomes a big problem due to pain from the broken beak you may have to hand feed them so they dont starve. Please consult your local avian vet. This is a very dangerous injury.
God Bless You for giving these birds the love and care they never had. You are wonderful people for giving your love and time caring for these babies. I'm so glad they are people like you in this world.
It is so wonderful that Aria has found someone who cares for and loves her now. Makes us cry to imagine what whe must have experienced in her life. Thank you for sharing this.
Its apalling to me and very out of my range of understanding how anyone could ever do something so awful to an animal. Poor Aria...all she wants is to be loved and instead someone did great harm to her. Its amazing shes able/willing to trust again. Shes looking good though. Bless you for all of the wonderful things you are doing for these wonderful creatures. I have 3 birds of my own... one is re-homed ... and I could never imagine causing harm to any one of them.
He is such a good bird that I am also in wonder a lot how he and yoko actually like us to pay attention to them now. Even if we just stop at the cage and chat for a bit. They don't always like to be held. Yoko still holding out on that one.
Thank God for people like you! I brings me hope to see that there are people with much love for our beloved animals! This video made a strong impression on me. Thank you for sharing...
i think its fantastic what they are doing i wish i had the courage to look after negleted birds my parents did once and it was heart breaking to see a bird so distressed i have an amazon and he isnt hand tamed he doesnt bite much lol iv had him 6yrs now and the past few months he has just started to get us to my partner coz he doesnt like men lolxxxx
This is so sad. I would never even think about neglecting my babies. Thank you so much for taking care of aria. May God bless you in many ways for saving a life!
He is actually going through a molt now. I think its possible he hasn't gone thropugh a molt in a long time due to all his illnesses. He seems to be enjoying preening again.
Thank you very much. Dr Burkett worked on his eye again today also. It has come open two times now. His body has been healing in such a high need everywhere that I am guessing his eye is healing at a slower rate that prefered.
Thanks Jcadig, We are working hard on Yoko now. Aria is out of the survival woods. Yoko on the other hand is having A HARD TIME OF IT NOW! We know Aria is ok andturning attention. We Don't want to loose any-one!
We cant get her to stop picking that hole in her chest. Then she almost broke her toe. then we had to take the collar off cause her foot or she would fall over on her side. she couldn't eat and was loosing weight. She got her Christmas presents last night. And I think we have to put her collar back on today now that her foot is better a little and she can balance.
Awwww :( Neither one of them can get a break. I wouldn't know what to do about plucking, fortunately I've never had that problem with Loki. Does she need a collar that is a little smaller maybe?
Yes have noticed also several of my replies have lost also. :-( I thank you for the heartfelt comments though. I can emagine how you feel when you see what has been happening, Just by the responses. Our vet has called us even at 10:00 pm just to help us with Aria. We email him since the vet is about 40 miles away.
I can tell you were really upset making this video!! It must be so hard knowing what humans have done and taking the responsibility upon yourself to make it right!
I try not to think about that. I just noticed... LOL The reason there is so few toys is because we are afraid he will bump his eye. We will put more back when he heals a bit more.
It's wonderful what you have done, thank you so much!!!!!!!!!

Yes we do.
We are careful about what they get however. All organic including their pellet diet.
They get scrambled eggs, select cooked beans, spaghetti, fruit, apples, oranges, watermelon, mango, grapes, green vegetables, Spanish rice and more.
Try making scrambled eggs. Mix in the shells and some spinach, taco seasoning, and celery for texture.
WATCH THEM GO! :-)

Yeah... it is wise to arrange for multi social acceptance. Quakers are VERY territorial. This is my experience. But theyt are very affectionate also.
